With the confirmation of no break week for the series following the official release of its previous issue, fans can’t wait for the spoiler process of My Hero Academia chapter 413 to begin.
Thankfully, they won’t be forced to wait too long, with the alleged leaks for the next installment in author and illustrator Kohei Horikoshi’s manga series set to arrive in the next 24-48 hours.
While these early unofficial spoilers can’t be fully trusted yet, they generally provide a good idea of what to expect in the new chapter. The events will be confirmed when the official release comes out on Monday, January 29th.
Until then, there are some storylines that fans can be fairly confident will continue in chapter 413 based on recent issues. For example, readers are likely to learn more about the proposal made by Second User Nana for protagonist Deku to relinquish his One For All power and let villain Shigaraki take it.
One key detail to watch for is whether any weaknesses are spotted in Shigaraki’s armor, as hinted by the hero Star and Stripe. Overall though, the main draw will be seeing how Deku responds to this suggestion and what comes next in his journey as the bearer of One For All.
Star and Stripe’s Legacy Unveils Shigaraki’s Internal Struggles
The upcoming chapter is titled “Lump of Lead” and begins with a flashback scene. In her final moments, hero Star and Stripe point out a crying child to All Might inside the AFO vestiges.
After waking up on the battlefield, All Might realize One For All is fraying. Edgeshot tells him to stay awake and survive.
Villain Shigaraki is confused about still having visions of Star and Stripe after her death. He wonders if this is the “inherited will” she mentioned.
Meanwhile, predecessor hero Nana explains to Deku that Shigaraki’s anger used to be shapeless like a lump of lead, but has now hardened into concrete hatred.
However, All Might’s vestige notices a crack in this hatred – a mental wound from Shigaraki’s fight with Star and Stripe that no Quirk can heal. Since Shigaraki is too powerful to defeat physically, for now, they must seek to defeat him mentally from the inside.
This crack in his spirit may be the key.
The alleged leaks indicate the story will emphasize Shigaraki’s internal struggles and past wounds in this chapter, rather than outright battles. Deku and the vestiges seem to be forming a new plan to exploit the opening created by Star and Stripe’s fight.
Star and Stripe’s Battle Against Shigaraki
Chapter 413 will likely open with protagonist Deku demanding more details from predecessor hero Nana on the proposed plan. Nana’s most plausible explanation is that he and the other Vestiges aim to rebel against All For One from within, instantly making villain Shigaraki Quirkless.
This would explain why Star and Stripe’s arm appeared – to show the Vestiges they have the power to rebel too. However, another popular theory is that Deku will inherit Star’s Quirk New Order. Her last order was for it to rebel against other Quirks.
So by giving up One For All to Shigaraki, Deku may gain New Order in the process, with the Vestiges pulling it from All For One during the exchange. This would also require Deku to relinquish One For All.
Either way, it seems the Vestiges have a cunning plot in mind to exploit the “crack” in Shigaraki through internal rebellion. The specifics will likely be clarified as Deku presses Nana for more details.
But the overarching goal is to defeat Shigaraki mentally since physically overpowering him now seems impossible. An intriguing strategy that fans are eager to see unfold.
More From My Hero Academia Chapter 413
Kudo believes the best strategy is to “overflow Shigaraki’s chalice” by transferring One For All to him. This would widen the mental crack and allow the Vestiges to directly affect his consciousness. However, predecessor En disagrees, fearing it will only strengthen Shigaraki like when he absorbed Danger Sense.
Kudo argues they should violently throw One For All at Shigaraki, overwhelming him. He volunteers to transfer his Vestige first as a test, since previously only Shinomori was absorbed. This suggests that Shigaraki can only absorb one new Quirk Factor and Vestige at a time.
But En counters that his weak Smokescreen would be better to transfer first. Giving Shigaraki a powerful Quirk like Gear Shift would be too risky. Kudo points out if Shigaraki uses Gear Shift after the transfer, he’d feel the recoil from Deku’s frequent use of it too.
