As the recruits, a group of B-list celebrities, former athletes, and singers try to survive the demanding boot camp drill exercises that real army and special forces operatives engage in; the process doesn’t get any easier. In Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, they are met with physical and mental challenges.
Any participant can call it quits when they think that they’re biting more than they can chew; so far, we have seven recruits remaining, and this last week’s episode involved them facing physical abuse from harsh weather and terrain conditions as well as the drill sergeant’s tough talk.
Still, they are committed to pursuing, improvising, finding what’s deep inside them to overcome their fears and deal with the physical stress to see who comes out on top.
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
In each episode, a recruit calls it quits they are going through a tough test, as the show’s name implies; Kelly Rizzo, Bob Saget’s widow, left the show after a grueling test of strength consisting of moving a giant boat and rowing it upstream then unpacking its content to carry them up a hill.
But this episode showed us how doubt can get the worst of you. A case in point is Nick Viall, who thought about quitting the show for the first time; still, he found motivation, looked deep inside of him, and found that being a dad is something good enough to make you push through the most challenging test.
In this episode, the Drill Sergeants and Instructors gave the remaining recruits a hard time; Jason Fox, a dude who did work with the Special Boat Service, shared just how war and the instincts of survival that your Drill Instructors teach you are not for bullying but to help you get out of the toughest, life-threatening situations.
Despite Viall’s motives, his DSs are not impressed, and they also don’t like Olympic champion Bode Miller’s attitude regarding physical strength challenges.
The recruits were flown via helicopter to a mountain thousands of feet above sea level; they would have to do a commando crawl, lie on their bellies, and use their arms and just one leg to push through cliffs, ravines, and treacherous terrains. But that’s not the end; the DSs made it tougher by making them do it on their backs as well.
When the recruits failed, they were dropped far from the base and had to carry their gear plus extra weight as punishment. By the end of the episode, we still had seven recruits. And no one quit.
