On Thursday’s Southern Charm episode, back in Charleston, there was no shortage of rumors to spread.
Whitney Sudler-Smith and Patricia Altschul were kept informed by Shep Rose about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Ann Green, his adventures, and the guys’ trip to his parents’ mountain home in North Carolina.
Shep, 43, said, “We just shared a kiss. All we did was that.” Shep later acknowledged in a confessional interview that he thought Taylor, 28, was looking for “a little more,” but they ultimately decided against moving things along.
Taylor Ann Green shares her theory about the kiss
Taylor discussed her thoughts on the kiss with Jarrett “JT” Thomas at the park, speculating that it might have been more of an apology. 38-year-old JT expressed doubt and inquired, “You kiss people as an apology?”
After breaking up with Shep, Taylor apologized for not going to therapy and called herself “the simp that goes running back” to her ex. She also acknowledged that she started things with Austen Kroll, saying that she was fully responsible and that she had taken him by surprise.
Taylor acknowledged that there was a chance for a genuine connection, but feelings never materialized. More than Olivia Flowers, she admitted that she had done it “to hurt Shep”.
Craig Conover was talking to his Summer House girlfriend Paige DeSorbo about their future while Shep and Taylor were digging into their past. The 34-year-old Craig talked about his longing for a spouse and kids, even going so far as to fantasize about getting married to Paige.
Paige, 31, didn’t feel pressured to get married right away, though. “Who you marry is the biggest decision of your life,” she said, underscoring the importance of selecting a life mate. She also brought up the fact that they had only been dating for six months, implying that they should give such a big decision careful thought and convey a sense of inexperience.
The Gentleman’s Dinner
Patricia, who is eighty-two, had planned to throw the yearly Gentleman’s Dinner, but she was unable to do so after suffering a compression fracture to her spine in a fall.
As a result, Whitney, 55, took over as hostess for the dinner with a royal theme, which Rodrigo Reyes, Austen, Craig, and Shep all attended. Shep revealed that Taylor and her dog Penny had lunch together when he mentioned that Penny’s car and dog were at his house during cocktail hour. Shep clarified that they only made out before he passed out in North Carolina and denied sleeping with her when questioned.
Craig gave Whitney an update on more trip details, calling Shep’s outburst “theatric.” Shep gave Austen some criticism, saying, “You don’t have a big moral leg to stand on on this one.”
Though he chose to be polite and courteous about it, the author of “The Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar” stated that he thought Austen had “ostensibly crossed” him by kissing Taylor. Apologizing, Austen said, “I feel f—ing bad, and I’ve been trying to atone.”
Craig said, “If someone hooked up with your f—ing ex-girlfriend, you’re going to be mad about it,” expressing his agreement with Shep’s right to be upset with Austen.
Shep told Craig in a private conversation that he couldn’t talk about the topic of Taylor and Austen kissing because it hurt too much. Rodrigo and Shep departed, and Craig, Austen, and Whitney decided to light up cigars while sporting matching smoking jackets.
Craig asked Whitney if he believed Austen and Taylor had more in common than just kissing while Austen was away for a little while. Whitney guessed, putting money on f—ing. After hearing about it, Austen denied it, saying, “That’s all. We didn’t sleep together.”
When Whitney asked what happened during the kiss, Austen said that it happened while he and Taylor were “jamming.” Austen acted out the scene of him and Taylor dancing in his kitchen, helped along by Whitney. In response to a question concerning his emotions at the time, Austen said, “I felt not bad about it.”
