Some Kind Of Marriage Chapter 25 will be the latest installment in the Comedy-Romance-Drama Manhwa. The story follows the age-old trope of the secretary being forced to marry their narcissistic/workaholic boss so that the boss can close some big business deal or inherit the family business. This one is slightly different from the rest. The secretary was not at all on board with marrying her boss as she despised his whole existence. Han Joo-Won is the grandson of the Chairman of Kaan Group. As he is getting old he is thinking of passing along the group to a competent leader. Even though Joo-Won proclaimed that he is going to marry he never went through with it as he never found a suitable bride. Until he overheard a conversation in the breakroom. It was Secretary Yoo Dae-Yun talking to her friends about her recent breakup. Her friends were teasing her as she decided to not engage in any type of relationship. She added that she is content with not having physical intimacy for the rest of her life. That caught Joo-Won’s attention.
Joo-Won had Dae-Yun transfer to his staff and keep a close eye on her for about a year. It wasn’t until his most recent birthday party he extended his offer to her. At the party, Dae-Yun accidentally dropped the two-tier birthday cake and herself all over Joo-Won. When she was invited to his office she was sure that she was getting sacked. What she did not expect was a proposal. If she chooses to go through with the marriage Joo-Won promised him, Kaan Fleur and another company that’s in the works.
However, there was no amount of money in the world that will make her deal with his antics on the daily. She tells him that she would rather be employed than marry Joo-Won. However, circumstances were not at all in her favor and sooner rather than later they do end up getting married. Dae-Yun movies with Joo-Won where she is keeping up with the ruse till Joo-Won is declared the next successor. In the short time there she was able to get close Joo-Won’s mom and grandfather.

Soo-Ho and his dad invited Dong-Hee to a restaurant to introduce him to his “fiance”. His fiance is Kang Enu-Jin, the daughter of the chairman of H Group who owns several hotels. Dong-Hee was able to see through the ruse instantly. He asks Enu-Jin if she is in love with Soo-Ho. After getting no answer from Dong-Hee asked her to leave. Even though embarrassed she kept her composure and left.
Soo-Ho was furious that his Grandfather sent away a potential marriage partner away so rudely. However, Dong-Hee explains how he regrets not paying more attention to his sick wife. He does not want his grandsons to go through the same ordeal. The scene then shifts to Joo-Won’s house where Dae-Yun is just waking up after an intense night of drinking. Furthermore, in her drunken stupor, she kissed Joo-Won but remembers none of it.
At home, she runs into Joo-Won’s mom who talks to her about how much she appreciates Dae-Yun for marrying her son. She goes on to explain Joo-Won’s past. There we get to know why he hated water so much. When Joo-Won was just a teenager he went on a church retreat with some of his friends. There they snuck out to go to the beach where one of his friends was caught in the waves. Even though Joo-Won didn’t know how to win he jumped into save them. The friend was fine but Joo-Won developed an irrational fear of water and became socially distant.

We finally know why Joo-Won is the way he is. Safe to say no one expected it to be something like this. Furthermore, Joo-Won’s mom praises her for being with her son and not marrying her so that he can inherit the family business. We can see the guilt washing over Dae-Yun as she feels as if she is betraying them. Furthermore, that kiss. That kiss might be the start of something new in their dynamic. It sucks that Dae-Yun doesn’t remember it. Joo-Won might be too embarrassed to remind her.
