Chapter 27 of Smoking Behind The Supermarket With You shows Obata and the other employees talking while having food together. Yamada entered the room and wished everyone a good evening, but something looked a little off.

She even refused to have dinner with them, which was unusual. It turned out that she had collapsed from a fever at the store. Meanwhile, Sasaki was celebrating with his colleagues that the year was coming to an end.

With the boss not around for a while, they were glad their workload was lesser. His colleague had plans to spend time with his family at the hot springs, so he bid Sasaki adieu. Sasaki got ready to leave and go to the store to buy some stuff but also met Yamada who would smile at him and make him feel better now that the year was ending.
