TLC brings us back to this show at a moment where it’s only Kody and the one relationship he hasn’t managed to destroy.
In any case, today we’re sharing with you a recap of the debut episode of the season, what I consider is my interpretation of the debut episode’s conclusion and a few words concerning the conclusion of this season.
There are spoilers in this content, so if you haven’t seen the debut episode, please watch it, make your own idea, and then contrast it with mine because I don’t want to ruin the fun for you.
Sister Wives Season 18 Episode 1 Recap
Kody has a set plan for when he wants to get rid of one of his wives. He will stop being close to anyone. He wouldn’t stop by the house as often as he used to, and when he did, he would stay on his phone. All of that was what he did to Merri. So, she turned to her online friends for comfort.
This is also why she was fooled. The poor woman only wanted to find love. She didn’t get that from the catfish, and she couldn’t get it from her husband. He hurt her with the catfish thing.
She’s just by herself. Kody said that they were just friends, not married. He then did the same thing to Christine, and Christine wasn’t going to wait around for Kody like Merri did.
Christine and Kody broke up. She left him and went with her children. She is making plans for the kids to have a second Christmas. When Kody found out what she was doing, he was angry. Kody said that his house should be impartial.
The kids were supposed to come to his house to celebrate with everyone. Christine’s family no longer had a leader except for Kody. Was she? She left Kody because she could see that he had favorites, and in a polygamous marriage, having favorites can be bad for everyone.
It makes the wives who don’t get along with him or feel even the slightest connection with him wonder why they are still married.

From Polygamy to Monogamy
What’s the point of having more than one wife if he’s going to act like he only has one? Kody decided on Robyn. Robyn is his top priority. For Robin, he moved the family to Flagstaff. In Las Vegas, they had a good time. They didn’t have to worry about being caught or getting arrested.
Robyn’s oldest son was the only one going to school in Arizona. This is when Kody said out of the blue that he wanted to move everyone to Flagstaff, Arizona. They went. There, they bought the land. It’s called Coyote Pass, and they haven’t paid it off since they moved to the area. And now it’s been a few years.
Before the pandemic, they moved to the area, which was at its worst three years ago. Before it was paid off, they couldn’t build on it. Robyn had to buy a place to live. Merri and Janelle still had to pay rent. Christine has a house, but it’s in Utah.
She moved there after she and her husband got a divorce, and Kody said that she was tearing the family apart. She wanted to know who they were. He wasn’t there for his wife or kids. He abandoned his children when they needed him the most. It also drove him away from his other children. He doesn’t talk to two of Janelle’s sons. And back again.
Kody said that he was waiting for them to say they were sorry before he could invite them to Christmas. He didn’t notice how far away this was, making him from Janelle. Janelle has always liked Kody’s ability to connect with his children the most.
Because he doesn’t want to try to fix their broken relationship, she’s starting to wonder if it was ever real. Kody loves to say that he is the leader of the family. He doesn’t act like it, though. He has been pushing away three of his four wives, and when they finally leave him, he makes a Pikachu face.
Robyn never thought Christine would leave the family or bring the kids back to Utah. She could only see how happy they were. Before Christine left, she thought they were all happy. Robyn later had a private conversation with Merri. Merri agreed that their family was good.
Wasn’t simple. It wasn’t good enough. But Merri said it was also fun and good. Lots of people laughed. Then Robyn came into the story. She changed the way things were. They’ve never really gotten over what happened, and now they can’t even talk to Christine.
Christine wants to be left alone. She didn’t want to be around Robyn or Merri. That hurt both of them a lot. Both of them thought they had good relationships with her, but it looks like she only wants to keep in touch with Janelle. Her best friend was Janelle.
Sister Wives Season 18 Episode 1 Ending Explained
When Christine joined the family, it started out that way, but over time, they became best friends, and Christine just came to Arizona to see Janelle. She also saw Kody while she was in the area. Kody once said that she broke up with the family, so when they met for lunch, Christine didn’t know how to feel.
Most often, Robyn sees Kody. She told Merri that he was having a lot of trouble with his thoughts. Merri said that she didn’t know him, so she didn’t think he would listen to her or appreciate her help.
Robyn was the only person he was willing to listen to. And the closest Merri could get to affection was when Robyn let her wear Kody’s coat. Kody, on the other hand, didn’t like the second Christmas. He and Christine talked about where the family was going. Some of her children will visit him. Janelle will spend Christmas with her.
Janelle was getting tired of being married. Meri still wants to be with Kody, but Kody has been asking everyone why she’s still there. He thinks that he and Merri are no longer married. So, Robyn is all he wants.
Sister Wives Season 18 Episode 1 Review
Sister Wives is back with Kody Brown and only one wife; the eighteenth season of this TLC polygamy-centered show has hit rock bottom: Not ratings-wise, but for Kody, whose life has been exposed across seasons and the flaws of character have proven again and again why polygamy is a failure as a societal construct.
Not only is Kody not capable of facing these kinds of challenges, but he balks at his emotions and retracts to himself whenever things get complicated and withdraw emotional connections, proving he’s the problem and not the bunch of women in his orbit
