Previously on a Sister Wives Talk Back segment, Jenelle Brown shared the reason behind Kody’s anger, as he always wanted to have a big, united family that actually fell apart along with failed marriages and drifted children. This had driven him more aggressive.
TLC aired a special episode of Sister Wives Look Back: How It’s Going on Sunday, December 31st. In this segment, Jenelle also made a revelation about the relationship between Kody and her sons, Garrison and Gabriel, along with her thoughts on interacting with Kody again.
Jenelle reveals her son’s relationship with Kody
Jenelle and Kody Brown had tied the knot in 1993 and signed in for a polygamous marriage with Meri Brown and him. Jenelle and Kody share six children together: Logan (29), Maddie (27), Hunter (26), Garrison (25), Gabriel (21), and Savanah (18).
The dream of a ‘big united’ family for Kody has fallen apart, and he’s also facing drifting apart phases with his children. In regard to his connection with Janelle’s children, she revealed there’s one of his sons who has been on somewhat speaking terms with his father; after a year, their family feud aired on Sister Wives.
There was tension noticed by the viewers regarding the relationship between Garrison and Gabriel and their father, Kody, during season 17. The rift that happened between them was due to the sense of disrespect Kody felt from the side of his sons regarding his words or COVID-19 rules.
According to Kody, he wanted the boys to come and apologize for the behavior in order to come back to the family events they had walked out of before. Jenelle revealed that after a year of this rift, her son Garrison does have some speaking terms with Kody. Later, she added, It’s still a ‘little bit’ and there’s no existence of reconciliation.
During the same segment, Jenelle also makes a remark in response to rewatching her season 18 fight with Kody, in which the former couple is witnessed making gaslighting accusations against each other. In the argument that took place ahead of their split in December 2022, Janelle revealed that due to the issues between the boys and Kody, she’ll not be joining Christmas.
As season 18 aired during the past fall, the tension between Kody, Garrison, and Gabriel grew, which led to the blowout of the relationship between Kody and Jenelle, causing their split.
During Sunday’s episode, Kody refused to talk about his breakup with Janelle, as he finds it very painful. Also, when he was prompted to rewatch the 2022 scene, he said, “Janelle and I are not good together, and she’s not a loyal wife. I’m probably a s-ty husband” to the cameras. According to Kody, Janelle won’t work anymore.
Whereas Janelle, while watching it back, had called Kody “an ass.” On the TV special, she explained that in Kody’s “perfect world,” she should have been against his kids for him, and when she didn’t do it, Kody would lose his crap and make it seem like it was all her fault.
In Sunday’s episode, Janelle clarified that she’s done trying to fix things with her ex-husband, and it doesn’t bother her if they never interact again. Christiane had already split with Kody in November 2021, following which Janelle and Meri also confirmed their split with Kody. Robyn is the only wife left in marriage to Kody Brown.
