The world of reality television often brings past lives into the present spotlight, and for Kook Dong-ho- a standout participant of Netflix’s Single’s Inferno 4- the transition from accountant to television personality has been met with a sudden and serious legal challenge.
On May 4 and 5, 2026, the internet became a digital courtroom as school bullying allegations surfaced against the 188cm tall certified public accountant.
The controversy began when a practicing lawyer, identified as “A,” took to social media to claim that she had lived in “hell” while watching the show, identifying Dong-ho as a key figure in her childhood trauma.
However, Dong-ho and his agency, Mood, have moved swiftly to dismantle these claims, labeling them as a calculated effort to smear his reputation and promote a law firm.
This “truth game” has divided netizens, pitting the detailed, emotional testimony of an alleged victim against the firm, evidence-based rebuttals of a professional seeking to protect his career.
As both sides dig in, the situation has escalated into a high-stakes legal battle that highlights the complexities of “social murder” in the age of viral exposés.
Chilling Allegations of “Confession Attacks” and Harassment
The accusations leveled against Kook Dong-ho by Lawyer A are both specific and disturbing, painting a picture of systemic harassment during their middle school years.
According to A, she was targeted by a delinquent clique, or iljin, led by a girl who was allegedly Dong-ho’s girlfriend at the time.
A claimed that while Dong-ho may not have been the primary instigator, he was a “notorious bully” who enjoyed and condoned the abuse.
The most vivid allegation involves a so-called “confession attack,” where A claimed Dong-ho publicly knelt in front of her with a cake to confess his feelings- not out of affection, but to mock her in front of a laughing crowd and his actual girlfriend.
Beyond the psychological humiliation, A described a series of physical and logistical torments.
She alleged that members of the group would “hit her on the head with a badminton racket,” place “thumbtacks on her chair” while she was in the bathroom, and even “glue her locker shut with strong adhesive.”
A expressed deep frustration that while she carried these scars into her adulthood, the perpetrator was seen on a global platform living a glamorous life.
She pointedly questioned,
“Would a perpetrator ever remember a victim? It is always the victims who carry it for life, bleeding tears in their hearts.”

A Fierce Defense: Refuting Falsehoods with Evidence
In response to the viral claims, Kook Dong-ho took to his personal Instagram to issue a direct and detailed rebuttal, aiming to “correct false information.”
He categorically denied the existence of the “Cake Incident” and the “confession attack,” stating,
“The claim that I knelt with a cake in front of many people to confess is not true. I have never done such a thing. I do not make confessions recklessly.”
He further clarified that he never dated the individual named as the “ringleader” in middle school and expressed doubt that such a person even existed in his social circles.
Crucially, Dong-ho addressed the claim that he had abandoned his professional career for the life of an influencer- a narrative often used to criticize reality stars. He firmly stated,
“Contrary to the claim that I quit my accounting job to become an influencer, I am still working at an accounting firm and have never left my professional career.”
His agency, Mood, backed this up by noting that Dong-ho had even discussed quitting influencer-related activities in January 2026 to focus on his accounting office and an upcoming book.
The agency concluded their defense by criticizing the accuser for using her status as a lawyer to give weight to unverified claims, stating,
“We deeply regret the act of social destruction through one-sided public opinion formation.”
As the agency prepares to pursue legal action for defamation, the case remains a stark reminder of how quickly a reality star’s “paradise” can turn into a public relations storm.
