Jonathan Owens, husband of Simone Biles, shifts to Chicago Bears. According to a source, NFL safety Jonathan Owens, married to gymnast Simone Biles, has inked a two-year free-agent deal with the Chicago Bears.
His agent, Sunny Shah, informed NFL that Owens, aged 28, will depart from the Green Bay Packers following his one-year contract in 2023.
During his tenure with the Packers, Owens accumulated 84 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and three passes defended across 17 games. He also recorded seven tackles in the team’s two playoff matches, as reported.
He confirmed the news on X:
“Appreciate it @packers for the opportunity. And Packer nation for welcoming me and my wife with open arms, will never forget my time in GB,” he wrote in the Tuesday post.

To celebrate the news, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, aged 26, expressed her joy for her husband. Biles shared a post on X celebrating Owens’ upcoming move.
“Just wanted to say thank you packer nation for embracing my husband & I love green bay will always hold a special place in our hearts!” Biles wrote in her first post on Tuesday.
“CHICAGO HERE HE COMES,” she wrote in a follow-up post.
Additionally, she praised the city’s renowned hot dogs and pizza, stating,
“Also, I just love the city of Chicago.”
“I’m so excited about not having a connecting flight to go & see my husband hahahahaaha,” she joked in another post.
Biles concluded her string of excited posts by describing how “incredibly proud” she is of Owens, concluding, “The grind never stops! this is just the beginning!”
After signing with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent post the 2018 NFL Draft, Owens debuted in the NFL in 2019 with the Houston Texans, where he played for four seasons.
Before his professional career, Owens showcased his skills at Missouri Western State University, earning the title of Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 2017.
During Owens’ final game with the Packers on Jan. 21, Biles praised his season with the Wisconsin team despite their loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs, with a score of 21-24.
Expressing her support, Biles shared an Instagram post stating, “love supporting you & your dreams,” to which Owens replied in the comments,
“Love having you there every step of the way.”
Owens and Biles got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2022. They initially tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Houston, followed by a celebration in May in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
