SHINee’s Taemin is set to perform at the ‘Asia Star Entertainer Awards’. On February 20, the inaugural ‘ASEA’ announced Taemin’s participation, alongside J-pop groups The Rampage from EXILE TRIBE and Creepy Nuts, in the upcoming awards ceremony’s lineup.
The three acts, including Taemin and the J-pop groups, will be performing alongside TWS, NCT WISH, Stray Kids, DAY6, The Boyz, STAYC, NiziU, Fantasy Boys, and Billie, who were previously confirmed for the event.
The ‘ASEA’ will take place in Japan at the K-Arena in Yokohama on April 10.
Taemin debuted as a member of the boy band SHINee in May 2008 and the supergroup SuperM in 2019, both under SM Entertainment. He has been labeled by media outlets as the “Idol’s Idol” due to the large number of idols citing him as an inspiration.
As an actor, his first role was as Junsu in the 2009 MBC comedy “Tae-Hee, Hye-Kyo, Ji-Hyun.”
Taemin made his solo debut in 2014 with the release of his first extended play (EP), “Ace.” It peaked at number one on the South Korean Gaon Album Chart, while its lead single “Danger” reached number five on the Gaon Digital Chart.
His first studio album, “Press It” (2016), also topped the Gaon Album Chart. Additionally, Taemin debuted as a soloist in Japan in July 2016 with the release of his second EP, “Sayonara Hitori.”
