She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s first episode focuses primarily on Jennifer Walters’ bond with Bruce Banner and how she picks up his abilities. The story that follows shows how she manages to transform into the Hulk, and Bruce spends a lot of time explaining how they are related as cousins and Gamma-infused people. After the flashback, the fans are moved to the courtroom where Titania, played by Jameela Jamil, makes her MCU debut. After a brief fight, the episode comes to a peaceful end.
In short, She-Hulk episode 1 successfully introduces Marvel’s newest hero and places her in the larger Marvel universe. It achieves this task by skillfully mixing comedy, information, and well-known events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The end result is a debut that is successful and holds out hope for the character’s future success. But episode 1 has left us with a lot of questions that episode 2 will need to answer. Like why was a Sakkarian Spaceship after Hulk? Who is the villain, Titania, that we saw at the end of the episode? Let’s discuss these and some more questions.
She-Hulk Season 1 Episode 1 Ending Explained
In addition to showing the MCU’s She-Hulk origin story, the premiere episode featured a comedic montage of Bruce’s Smart Hulk teaching Jen, though she completed every challenge with ease. Jen returns to her New York law practice to resume living a normal life, having learned how to control when she “Hulks out” and strongly rejecting the idea of being a superhero. One of She-Hulk’s first episode’s many MCU Easter eggs revealed if Captain America had ever lost his virginity in a mid-credits scene (spoiler: he did).
At the end of the first episode, a character named Titania storms into a courtroom and is defeated by Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who turns into a 6-foot-7-inch green superhero and reveals her superhero side to the world. Titania is portrayed by Jameela Jamil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Her character is defined as a social media influencer who challenges She-Hulk in an attempt to get fame. She is a narcissist with super strength, and it looks like she is trying to gain fame by bursting into the courtroom at the end of the first episode. The ending of episode 1 will start a rivalry between Titania and She-Hulk as Titania will have a grudge against She-Hulk after her efforts go wrong.
Jamil defined her character as “all narcissism and ego” when speaking in D23. She then added, “But then She-Hulk walks in and embarrasses her publicly. All Titania wants to do is cause trouble for She-Hulk”. In a later interview, Jamil went even further, calling Titania a troublesome person. Jamil thinks her character doesn’t need to use her strength, she might just irritate her opponent to death.
It will be interesting to see where Titania’s story goes in this series. While her character would seem to as the main villain, we think that the main villain would be Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky/Abomination. With fresh episodes of this show airing every week, only time will tell if Titania ultimately turns out to be She-Hulk’s friend or enemy.
She-Hulk Season 1 Episode 2 Spoilers And Theories
I guess there’s a lot to unpack. Firstly, in the comics, where she received a blood transfusion, Jennifer Walter’s transformation into She-Hulk isn’t the same as shown in the show. In the show, the Hulk’s blood fell on Jen’s open wound, exposing her to gamma radiation. That puts an end to the idea that anyone who ingests Hulk’s blood through an open wound will either turn into Hulk if their body can withstand gamma radiation or die if it can’t.
Secondly, something in Jen’s blood appears to be causing Hulk’s wound to heal more quickly. This suggests that She-Hulk might possess a superpower right out of a comic book, where she possesses healing and regeneration abilities. Thirdly, what is the purpose of the Sakkarians’ search for Hulk? Theories suggest two things: that Sakkarians miss their hero and that they want him back or that the various speculations point to Hulk setting out for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty due to the fact that he has a child. Could Sakaar be home to Hulk’s unborn child?
Finally, there is Titania, played by Jameela Jamil, who appears in the end. What does Titania want that she barged into the courtroom given that Episode 1 didn’t establish her as Titania and that Jen said she had no problems from the time she left Mexico until the day of her appearance in court?
