Tensions between CM Punk and Seth Rollins arose from the moment Punk returned to the WWE. They never reached an agreement and always displayed hate. At one point, Rollins referred to him as a cancer and urged him to quit WWE, his home. Punk countered that he would challenge Rollins and win the Royal Rumble to prove him incorrect.
Many people predicted that the two would square off at WrestleMania. But Punk was defeated, suffered a triceps tear, and was unable to continue. Rollins sustained injuries as well, although he is almost fully recovered. Rollins responded to Punk’s injury at this point by verbally abusing him.
Seth Rollins on CM Punk’s Injury
When WWE recently travelled to Australia for the Elimination Chamber 2024, Seth Rollins made an appearance in an interview with Wrestle Radio Australia. Rollins was questioned about their unsuccessful ambitions for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 and CM Punk’s tragic injury throughout the interview.
Rollins responded by criticizing Punk, saying that he has a fragile body, mind, and ego in line with the remarks made by AEW Star and his old Shield partner, Jon Moxley. Rollins stated that he had previously informed him that to win the WHC title, he must now work a little harder.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins said, “I mean, I don’t want to say I told you so. But me and a lot of other people told you so. What’s the line? Fragile mind. Fragile body. Fragile ego. I think somebody that I know said something like that about him and it rings true.
So look here’s the deal and I told him this in the ring, if you want to find your way to me and the World Heavyweight Championship you’re gonna have to work for it, the deal is he’s gonna have to work a little harder now.”
After a few more days, Seth Rollins will be fully recovered from his injury and back at WrestleMania 40 to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McInytre. where Drew despises CM Punk as well. Seeing how these two punk haters will act out their parts on the way to Mania would be fantastic.
