In the upcoming May issue of Kodansha’s Be Love magazine, it was revealed on Monday that the manga artist duo Peach-Pit will conclude their series “Sei Shōnagon to Mōshimasu” (My Name is Sei Shōnagon) in the next issue scheduled for May 1.
Peach-Pit introduced the manga with its first two chapters in the magazine back in August 2019. Kodansha subsequently published the manga’s eighth volume on January 12. The storyline of the manga revolves around the renowned Heian-era poet and author of “The Pillow Book,” Sei Shōnagon, and the intricacies of court life during the Heian era.
In October, Kodansha announced that Peach-Pit would be launching a sequel to their “Shugo Chara!” manga in the publisher’s Nakayoshi magazine during the summer of 2024.
Prior to “Sei Shōnagon to Mōshimasu,” Peach-Pit concluded their series “Nishina Tesura wa Mitsukaranai” (Tesura Nishina Can’t Find It) — the “second season” of their “Nishina Tesura” manga series — in May 2018.
The duo initiated their “Rozen Maiden 0” manga series in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine in February 2016, which concluded in March 2019. Their original “Rozen Maiden” manga series initially ran from 2002 to 2007 in Gentosha’s Monthly Comic Birz magazine and continued serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine from 2008 to 2014.
Peach-Pit’s works have been published in North America by Tokyopop, including “DearS” and “Rozen Maiden.” “Shugo Chara!” and its spin-offs, “Shugo Chara-chan!” and “Shugo Chara! Encore!,” were published by Del Rey and Kodansha, while Yen Press handled the publication of their “Zombie-Loan” manga series. All of these franchises have inspired television anime adaptations.
