On Friday, the brand new anthem of the San Francisco 49ers, Do It for the Bay, was launched. This new anthem has been prepared by the Northern California native rappers Saweetie (30) and P-Lo (32) in partnership with the NFL team.
The hip-hop track, Do It for the Bay, has lyrics sung by the rappers that portray the love and loyalty the artist and the fans have for the football team. The color theme seen in the musical video is inspired by the signature colors of the NFL team, red and golden, along with The Bay Arena of California.
Both rappers have delivered phenomenal performances to make Do It for the Bay a rock for the 49ers. Throughout the music video, there are clips from different game footage played by the team that has been included. In the video, Saweetie is wearing a top-to-toe red outfit, and P-Lo has worn a head-to-toe outfit provided by Levi to pay tribute to the stadium of Levi in San Francisco.
Saweetie, the rapper of the new 49ers album who is also a fan of the NFL team, stated, “I’m excited to share a new 49ers single design to hype up the team and The Faithful for this playoff run!”. The rapper also thanked the 49ers organization for making her a part of this fortunate opportunity.
In the musical video, the native rappers have vibed on the chorus that is “Do your dance, do your dance/ We just came through the end zone again. ‘What we standin’ on? Real big business/City of the dubs, you know we stay winnin’ “ that ends with the main line, “OK, OK, OK, OK! Do it for the Bay.”
The Grammy-nominated Saweetie also shouted out to her 49ers album rap partner, P-Lo, who did what he does. She is glad for all the work they did as a duo in the musical video and were able to do and collaborate for something that P-Lo says is so Bay-triotic.
P-Lo also shared his thoughts about the anthem as he said, “Big thanks to the 49ers for their commitment to bridging sports and Bay Arena Culture.” He also shared that it was a long-awaited opportunity for him, as he had been willing to release music with Saweetie as both of them are die-hard fans of the 49ers, and through this song, they were able to express the pride they feel for The Bay.
Allie Dicken, the senior marketing director of the 49ers, has also thanked the artists. In a statement by Dickens, he said they are thankful to the Bay Arena iconic artists and 49ers, The Faithful, Saweetie, and P-Lo, for creating a song that celebrates the team and has given The Faithful a new soundtrack for their gameday.
