Savannah Chrisley shares an update on her parents, Todd and Julie’s appeal case for the oral argument. The news made the whole family of Chrisley’s happy.
Savannah shares the news in Instagram on 20 November 2023 by posting a video of her sharing the splendid news of her family with her friends and well wishers. She shares a video update on her parents appeal case. Todd and Julie were originally charged and convicted for their involvement in an extensive bank fraud case in June 2022.
Amid the prison sentences for Savannah’s parents, she was discussing her family’s Thanksgiving plans for the year. The Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens actor excitedly revealed that she had received a phone call notifying her that the appeals court had granted a request for oral arguments in her parents.
In the video, she said
We are spending Thanksgiving a little different this year because I wasn’t going to fake it. I wasn’t going to do the traditional Thanksgiving we’re always used to. I literally was sobbing. It is one step closer to getting mom and dad home. The kids are freaking out. I’m freaking out. … It’s just amazing.
In the video, she is seen saying that the oral arguments will begin on March 25, 2024, and may help a lot in the case of Todd and Julie. She also seems very happy about the fact that her parents got an opportunity for the oral arguments.
Only six percent of cases that are submitted for oral arguments get accepted, says Savannah. She seemed really happy to get a chance to fight and argue with her parents.
What happened to Todd and Julie Chrisley?
Todd and Julie Chrisley are very popular for their Chrisley Knows Best reality show, which premiered on USA Network in 2014. In the show , the couple was seen as one of the wealthiest real estate tycoons from the South. They were sentenced to twelve and seven years in prison after being found guilty by the court on federal charges in 2022.
The couple’s case was handled by the white-collar defense attorney Jay Surgent. Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were found guilty on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion and submitting false documents to banks to take out loans and fund their lavish lifestyle. Julie was also charged with wire fraud and obstruction of justice.
In September this year, Todd and Julie’s prison sentences were reduced by the court. Todd’s release date has changed to December 2032, reducing his sentence by two years of his original prisoner period. Julie’s, on the other hand, has been reduced by one year and she is expected to be released in September 2028.
As per the lawyer, the couple’s sentence was reduced because they were convicted of non violent offenses and also were practicing as the model inmates ever since they were reported to their respective prisons in January this year.
Todd was sent to the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, while Julie Chrisley was reported to the Federal Medical Center in Lexington. Now, the court has granted the appeal for oral arguments in their case, and the couple’s family hopes to bring them back soon.
The couple has a daughter, who was part of the show from 2014 to 2021, Savannah Chrisley, and two sons, Chase and Grayson. Savannah and the rest of the family are now planning to bring back the TV show Chrisley Knows Best with her siblings. They will be joined by their grandmother, Faye Chrisley, and Todd’s granddaughter, Chloe Chrisley.
The show will portray how the family has adjusted to life with their parents behind bars. Savannah said that it was the right time to share their story. The show will be produced by Scout Productions.
Savannah and her family are looking forward to the oral arguments happening in March 2024 to bring her parents back home safely.
