To celebrate the release of Sakamoto Days volume 18, a special live-action collaboration video was released on August 1, 2024. This live-action promotional video is set in an alternate version of the Sakamoto Shop, offering a new experience that differs from the original manga’s storyline.
The video stars stunt performer Saori Izawa and is directed by Daiki Kamoshita, with action sequences choreographed by Mine Tanimoto. Sakamoto Days is a Japanese manga series created by Yuto Suzuki. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020 and collected in 16 tankobon volumes as of April 2024.
The manga is also published in English by Viz Media and Manga Plus.
An anime adaptation is scheduled for January 2025 and will be streamed worldwide on Netflix with weekly episodes. TMS Entertainment, known for Detective Conan, Fruits Basket (2019), and Dr. Stone, will produce the animation for the Sakamoto Days anime.
Masaki Watanabe will direct, Taku Kishimoto will handle the series composition, and Yo Moriyama will design the characters.
