Netflix has revealed a new character trailer for SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2, offering fans their first major introduction to three important new characters joining Taro Sakamoto’s increasingly dangerous world. The new footage was revealed as part of Netflix’s latest anime and animation slate and confirms that Sakamoto Days Season 2 will arrive in January 2027.

The character trailer introduces Etsuko Satoda, Amane Yotsumura and Satoru Yatsumura, three figures connected to the expanding assassin world surrounding Sakamoto. Etsuko Satoda is Sakamoto’s former teacher, while Amane Yotsumura is a conflicted student and Satoru Yatsumura is Amane’s elusive father.

The upcoming season continues the story of Taro Sakamoto, the legendary former hitman who left behind his dangerous past to live peacefully with his family. However, the growing threat of assassins and the mysterious X, also known as Slur, ensures that Sakamoto’s former life remains impossible to escape.

Season 2 follows Sakamoto and Shin as they infiltrate JCC, Japan’s assassin training institution, to gather information about X. At the same time, elite assassin task force ORDER members Nagumo, Shishiba and Osaragi travel to Kyoto for an assignment that takes a dangerous turn when they are ambushed by an unexpected attacker.

The anime is based on Yuto Suzuki’s manga, which has surpassed 15 million copies in circulation worldwide. The first season debuted in January 2025 and was released in two parts, both of which are currently available to stream on Netflix.
