If S.W.A.T. were only about special weapons and tactics, it wouldn’t have been a good show since its original inception decades ago, nor wouldn’t it have been made a movie, nor would we be talking about the sixth season’s climactic final episodes.
This CBS action show does have the action elements of weapons and dudes combatting crime while also going deeper into the lives of the men who put their necks on the line to fight the bad guys with great scriptwriting that depicts societal conflicts and modern issues that touch everyone in the United States nowadays.
With so many police shows out there that seem to be all that repetitive in their content, S.W.A.T. manages to bring fresh, action-packed stories with plot takes that make the audience keep coming back for more, and while the show’s final episodes are slowly making their way to the small screens, CBS hasn’t made an official announcement concerning the show’s renewal. Still, we’re left with watching the remaining episodes to see what the future holds for our beloved characters.
S.W.A.T. Season 6 Episode 19 Recap
Things begin with Tan’s divorce amidst cheating and moving out. All sour, no attempts to fix things, no couple’s therapy, no nothing. Just the house for sale sign, and that’s it. While Tan knows that he’d been the rebound, he does his math and realizes that things are irreparable. Bonnie would have been happy to move on if her lover had left his own marriage, but he was still married, and feelings got in the way of what seemed a physical relationship turning emotional.
Now, for some action! Wilson tried to kill Hoffman because his family had been taken hostage, and he was put between a rock and a hard place: Whack Hoffman or your family dies. As it turns out, Wilson grossly underperformed because his target was out for his morning run, and he ran into him. He also planned to shoot, but someone saw him and scared him away before he could finish.
A Vengeful Plot
SWAT found Wilson without any trouble, Wilson spilled the beans, but it was Hondo who pulled the trigger on him, a non-lethal shot that put the dude in an ambulance on his way to the hospital.
When questioned by Hondo at the hospital, Wilson shares details with the people that abducted his family, and then Hondo learns that there are people asking about Wilson’s admission to the hospital, which raises some red flags. Further inquiry unveils the motive, vengeance for sexual abuse.
The investigation leads the cops to an old factory where they’re holding Wilson’s family hostage. In the end, Hoffman will face charges, just not the right ones, leaving a bitter conclusion. Finally, going back to the emotional side of things, Tan chose not to mend things with Bonnie after chatting about the situation with Powell.
