Ryan O’Neal, the 82-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, peacefully passed away on December 8, with the cause of death now revealed. The recently obtained death certificate disclosed that O’Neal succumbed to “congestive heart failure,” an ailment he had been facing for years.
The certificate also noted cardiomyopathy as a persistent heart muscle condition described by the Cleveland Clinic as affecting the heart’s ability to efficiently pump blood throughout the body.
According to the death certificate, O’Neal passed away at Saint John’s Health Center after being buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary in Los Angeles.
