With a simple shake of the head, Rune and Ruud sized a 59-match rivalry, thus becoming one of the most entertaining contestants in Tennis. As the quarterfinal draw took place, a rare clash happened between the two players, and the two professionals didn’t disappoint their fans with their performance.
Initially, Rune fell back in a set, but he clawed his way into the competition by giving a tough fight to Rudd, and the match came down to a lone break in the hard-fought fourth set of the tennis battle. During the whole match, it was visible that the two men had beef between them as the match reached the conclusion phase. This was obvious as Rune had repeated outbursts towards his support box and Azemar Engzell, the umpire, during the match.
Rune gave a curt handshake to Ruud, which earned him a seed head shaking. This led to the duo getting a gif made with them, and it became widely popular. As more of the truth came to light, it also got revealed that Rudd allegedly came to Rune after their match and yelled in his face. Rudd’s father came out in support of his son and denied Rune’s allegation claiming that the incident didn’t take place.
