Room 203 Plot
When two best friends move into a mysterious apartment with the hopes of starting a new and better life, things start to take a different turn in their lives. The film starts with a worker who gets a necklace while fixing the hole, and later her girlfriend slits her throat.
The scene shifts to the two best friends now, they come to see an apartment for rent, and even though the landlord named Ronan is creepy, they like the house that has vintage vibes, and they start to live there. Also, the landlord warns them neither to go into the basement nor touch the glass window in their living room.
Everything is great about this house except for the glass window and the hole in the wall in their bedroom. Kim tries hiding the hole by placing a mirror on it, but nothing works. Izzy also finds a necklace inside the hole and wears it. Oftentimes, we also see blood coming out of the hole and strange smells coming inside the room.
On the day of orientation, Kim gets late and meets a guy named Ian, who helps her by telling her what happened in the orientation. They start to hang out a lot, and Kim tells him about how she felt suffocated by her parents and wanted to do something she wanted and about how Izzy is struggling after her mother passed away.
A few days later, Kim and Izzy start to get confused that whether they are having nightmares or it’s actually reality. Things started getting more unusual, and Kim thought of starting to investigate this matter with the help of Ian. During the research, they find that the owner of this apartment, Liam McNally killed his pregnant wife Karen, and the necklace, which is with Izzy, belongs to Karen. On the other hand, we can see Izzy’s condition getting worse.
While researching, Kim goes to Milton Briggs, who used to work for the owners of this building. He tells her that the apartment was an old commerce building before, and one day, he saw Liam McNally killing his wife, and later he shot himself. He also tells that the baby survived. Another side, Ian goes to church and understands the meaning behind the glass painting in the living room.
Kim starts to connect the dots and then goes to her house, where Ronan captures her and takes her to his house. There it is understood that the surviving baby is actually Ronan, and all this is part of a religious practice where sacrifice has to be done for Morrigan, the goddess of war and death, and currently, she is trapped in the glass painting in the living room. Kim understands and goes to save Izzy in the basement as she has the necklace on.
After a bit of hustle and tussle, Ronan shoots himself, which obviously the Morrigan made him do. Then, Kim confronts Izzy, who seems to get possessed and helps her by taking off the necklace from her neck after a bit of grapple and struggle. Later, Kim goes to the living room and breaks the glass window.

Room 203 Review
The storyline was good, and the movie had the potential to perform better but couldn’t. The movie feels really slow, and a majority of the time, there is a lot of darkness everywhere. The actors did a fine job with whatever they were given.
There are many questions regarding the movie, and we aren’t provided answers; it feels as if we are getting a lot of information and not getting enough information simultaneously. A lot of questions remained unanswered. Many things are left at loose ends, and we can’t even predict everything on our own, right?
A lot of irrelevant information, which we were okay with if we didn’t get it, is given to us, such as about Izzy’s traumatic past, whereas the questions related to room 203, the hole, and the painting aren’t answered. Kim seems overburdened with the responsibility of being a good friend to Izzy and tries to always help her. Even though the focus is not given to her a lot, she still manages to keep the audience hooked with her acting skills.
The plot of the movie is pretty straightforward, and the ending is anticipatory. The movie seems to lack logic behind a lot many things. It isn’t something extraordinary but gives enough dose of entertainment.
Coming from a person who watches a lot of horror movies, this was an okay movie. This might be good for people who are just looking for a light horror movie.
