Ronda Rousey left WWE after her SummerSlam match last year and hasn’t shied away from criticizing her experience. While some found her comments harsh, she’s received surprising support from another wrestler.
Rousey previously called out Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis and even accused WWE of discrimination against women.
Former Champ Praised for Honesty
On “Story Time with Dutch Mantell,” former WWE star Gail Kim actually praised Rousey! Kim thanked Rousey for bringing more attention to women’s wrestling and the industry as a whole. She also commended Rousey for being so open about her experiences.
Kim said, “I love her, and how vocal she is… I’m a little envious of how vocal she can be.” She couldn’t understand why some people were bothered by Rousey’s honesty.
While Rousey’s comments about travel privileges and her frustration with WWE leadership might have seemed bitter to some, Kim seems to appreciate her candor. Right now, Rousey seems focused on other things, and professional wrestling isn’t a priority.
Whether Rousey’s criticisms will lead to any changes within WWE remains to be seen. However, her outspokenness has sparked conversation and gained some unexpected support from within the wrestling world.
