Revenge Movie Filming Locations: Where Is The Thriller-Revenge Movie Filmed?

The female lead of the Revenge movies decides to take revenge on every man who has wronged her and left her for dead. Directed by Coralie Fargeat, the movie titled Revenge focuses on Jen, the mistress of a wealthy middle-aged man who goes on an annual hunting trip with her partner and his friends.

Things take a turn for the worse after Jen arouses the sexual instincts of the remaining two middle-aged wealthy men, who then sexually assault her and leave her for dead.

Produced by Marc Stanimirovic and Jean-Yves Robin, the film stars Matilda Lutz playing Jen’s role, Kevin Janssens playing Richard’s role, Vincent Colombe playing Stans’s role, Guillaume Bouchede playing Dimitri’s role, and Jean-Louis Tribes playing Roberto’s role.

Released on 11 September 2017, the thriller film has a runtime of 118 minutes that kept the audience hooked from the start to the end. Matilda’s role as Jen was praised by the audience due to her portraying the emotions of anger and hurt perfectly on screen.

The brilliant movie had an amazing box office collection of $938,055 with a minimal budget. Viewers felt that a misogynistic person wouldn’t like the movie as it has a strong female lead. Revenge was released in two languages, including French and English. The film follows Jen as she comes back from almost being dead to end the lives of the men responsible for her condition.

Revenge Movie – Premise

The film follows Jen and her journey of revenge after she gets sexually assaulted by three wealthy men and is left for dead. The film starts in a deserted location with a chartered helicopter carrying Richard and his young mistress landing in front of a cabin owned by Richard.

Richard and Jen engage in sexual activities in the cabin before his other two friends arrive for their annual hunting trip. Jen is a beautiful American who seduces Richard before he calls to check in on his wife. The following morning Richard’s friends Stan and Dimitri arrive at the cabin for their annual hunting vacation with Richard.

After they arrive early for the hunting trip, Richard is forced to introduce Jen to the two of them even though he wants her to leave before his friends arrive. The same night, the group of four parties together with Jen dancing a sexy routine. Richard refuses to join Jen for a sexy number, so she enjoys her time dancing seductively with Stan.

The following morning when Jen wakes up, Richard is nowhere to be seen, and Stan becomes aggressive in his advances towards Jen. Stan rapes Jen after she refuses his advances, and Dimitri decides to ignore it instead of helping Jen.

Richard breathes Stan for raping Jen and offers her money to return to Canada, but she refuses insisting to go home. She threatens to reveal their relationship to Richard’s wife after he resists calling a helicopter for her to return to her home.

This leads to a brutal fight that ends with Richard slapping Jen and her running away in the desert with the three men following behind her. After cornering Jen, Richard pushes her off a cliff, and she gets impaled by a branch of a dead tree. The trio decides to retrieve her body after they get ready for their day of hunting.

Meanwhile, Jen regains consciousness and frees herself while bleeding profusely and having the branch still stuck through her torso. Jen hides after noticing the three men return to retrieve her body. Dimitri finds Jen by following her bloody trail but gets killed by Jen after she stabs him with a knife in the eyes.

Jen then moves forward carrying Dimitri’s weapons and supplies, before taking shelter in a cave. Jen takes a peyote before removing the branch from her body and uses a heated beer can to cauterize the wound.

The artwork on the beer can leaves a beautiful phoenix tattoo on her belly. Meanwhile, Richard and Stan dispose of Dimitri’s body after finding it near the river before going on the quest to find Jen. Jen ambushes Stan when he is refilling the SUV, and after a brutal fight, Jen ends Stan’s life before taking his SUV.

Richard returns to the cabin exhausted after not being able to contact Stan and calls for a helicopter to pick him up. The film ends with Jen and Richard getting into a brutal fight that ends with Jen killing Richard. A triumphant but bloodied Jen walks out of the cabin after she hears the helicopter approaching.

Revenge Movie: Filming Locations

The filming of Revenge Movie started on February 6 and wrapped by 21 March 2017 with Morocco as the prime location.

1. Morocco

Known for its beautiful palaces, mosques, medinas and riads, a North African country sharing a border with the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, a captivating country Morocco, was used for the filming of the entire Revenge movie by the crew.

The production crew needed a deserted area for the filming of Jen taking her revenge on the three men who wronged her so Morocco became the perfect location for filming. The main reason behind the crew choosing Morocco for filming was that the crew needed a cabin, desert and water in the same country.

The cabin they chose for the filming had an empty landscape in front of it that was silent and striking which was perfect for the filming.
