Capcom has reaffirmed that Resident Evil Veronica, its remake of the 2000 survival horror game Resident Evil Code: Veronica, remains scheduled for release in 2027. The confirmation appears in the publisher’s first-half financial report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, which lists the game among its upcoming releases. However, Capcom has not announced a specific launch date or narrowed the release window to a particular quarter.
The update provides another official confirmation for fans waiting for the next major Resident Evil remake. Capcom initially announced the project during Summer Game Fest in June 2026, revealing that it would bring the classic survival horror game to modern platforms with updated visuals and a reimagined story.
Resident Evil Veronica Remake Keeps Its 2027 Release Window
According to the release schedule on page 15 of Capcom’s first-half financial report, Resident Evil Veronica is planned for 2027. The same schedule lists Mega Man: Dual Override for spring 2027 and the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion for 2027. Neither of the latter two projects has a more specific window than the one listed for Resident Evil Veronica, except for Mega Man: Dual Override.

Capcom’s original announcement also confirmed that the remake is being developed using its proprietary RE ENGINE. The publisher plans to preserve the appeal of the original while introducing a reimagined story and high-quality graphics. The game is scheduled for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The remake revisits the events of Code: Veronica, which originally launched in 2000. The story features Claire Redfield as she faces a nightmare on the isolated Rockfort Island, with her brother Chris Redfield also playing an important role in the narrative.
Capcom has not yet shared a detailed release schedule or announced when it will reveal more gameplay. Until the publisher provides additional information, the financial report’s 2027 window remains the only confirmed release timing.
The remake is part of Capcom’s continued investment in the Resident Evil franchise, bringing another classic entry to contemporary platforms. For now, fans will have to wait for a firm date and further details about how the updated version will expand on the original experience.
