Resident Evil Requiem has reached 8.51 million copies sold worldwide, as the Resident Evil franchise surpasses 218 million units in cumulative sales. The figures appear in Capcom’s first-half financial report for fiscal year 2026, covering the six months ended September 30, 2026. The results highlight the continued commercial strength of the latest instalment alongside the publisher’s established horror catalogue.
According to the report’s title sales table on page 6, Resident Evil Requiem sold 1.59 million units during the reporting period, bringing its lifetime total to 8.51 million. The report also identifies Resident Evil Requiem, released in February 2026, as the latest main entry in the franchise.
Resident Evil Remakes Continue to Generate Strong Sales
The success of Resident Evil Requiem is supported by continued demand for earlier games. Capcom’s report lists the Resident Evil 4 remake at 17.15 million lifetime sales, after 3.54 million units sold during the six-month period. The Resident Evil 2 remake also performed well, reaching 20.38 million lifetime sales.
Capcom sold 36.86 million game units across its catalogue during the first half of fiscal 2026, representing a 54.5% year-over-year increase. Older catalogue games accounted for 32.18 million units, demonstrating how established franchises continue to contribute alongside new releases.

Capcom previously confirmed plans to support Resident Evil Requiem with additional content. In its March 2026 announcement, the company said it intended to provide ongoing support and new content to help players enjoy the game for longer.
The game also received an Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2026. Capcom noted that it reached eight million sales faster than any previous entry in the franchise.
With 8.51 million copies sold during its first reported half-year period and the franchise now exceeding 218 million lifetime sales, Resident Evil Requiem has become another major commercial success for Capcom.
