Goburou has changed once again by becoming a big ogre. He’s got new challenges ahead, dealing with this new form and all the strong abilities it brings.
The goblin community is adjusting to his change, but there are big dangers from the outside and problems within.
In Episode 2 of Re:Monster, called Re:D Bear, we see Goburou taking charge as a leader among the goblins. On Day 17, they find some human prisoners who have died, which is really sad.
Goburou and the older goblin do a ceremony to honor them. Then, by Day 26, Goburou has been training the goblins hard.
They get a surprise visit from an older group of goblins, who bring supplies and more human captives.
There’s a big fight, and Goburou ends up battling the leader of the older goblins and winning. This makes him the new leader of the goblins, and he takes care of the new human captives too.
Goburou gets in charge of the humans and tells the goblins not to bother them. He gives the humans food and a safe place to stay, and talks with them about what’s going on.
As time goes on, some goblins start to disagree with Goburou, but his strength helps him keep control. Then, some goblin parents try to sneak into where the humans are and hurt them.
But Goburou finds out about their plan before they can do any harm. Goburou punishes the goblins who tried to harm the humans, and the leader of the rogues ends up dying later.
Then, on Day 32, Goburou goes hunting with Gobumi and Gobukichi. They catch and eat a tri-horn horse, and Goburou learns new skills like Triple Thrust and Quick Healing.
That night, one of the human girls sleeps next to Goburou because she’s scared. When he wakes up the next morning, he finds Gobumi there too.
Gobe, the goblin who has been helping Goburou’s group, evolves into a hobgoblin. Goburou organizes the goblins into different groups based on what they’re good at.
Later on, Goburou goes hunting in the forest again and fights a tough battle against a Red Bear. He gets really hurt and loses his left arm, but he manages to win. After that, he evolves into a Rare Ogre Species.
In the scene after the credits, Goburou comes back to the goblin cave in his new form. His fellow goblins are shocked and amazed by his evolution. The older goblin talks about how fast he’s getting stronger.
Episode 2 of Re:Monster ends with Goburou feeling thankful that he made it back home safely, reflecting on everything that’s happened.
Expectation
The next episode of Re:Monster is named Re:Use. It will probably show Goburou dealing with fresh challenges as he gets used to being a huge ogre.
He might come across dangers from outside or have to handle problems within the goblin group. Gobukichi might also change in Episode 3 of Re:Monster.
Since he and Goburou hunted and leveled up together, they evolved into hobgoblins at the same time. So, it’s very likely he’ll evolve too. But we don’t know yet how he’ll evolve or what he’ll become.
