“Red Swan” follows Oh Wan-soo, a woman who rises from humble beginnings to become a world-class golfer. Her success catches the eye of Kim Yong-guk, heir to the Hwain Group, and they marry.
Burdened by her mother’s debts, Wan-soo reluctantly marries Yong-guk but soon discovers his affair, making her deeply unhappy. Despite this, she remains determined to keep the marriage together for over a decade.
Wan-soo’s life takes a dramatic turn when she arrives in Manila as a Goodwill Ambassador. She narrowly escapes a gunfight, thanks to Seo Do-Yoon, who steps in as her bodyguard.
As Wan-soo and Do-yoon spend more time together, they develop feelings for each other. Wan-soo reflects on her life and questions Do-yoon’s true motivations for working with the Hwain Group.
Red Swan Episode 8: Recap
This week’s episode picked up from the previous instalment when K1 attacked Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon upon Sang-Il’s orders. After seeing Wan-Soo unconscious, Do-Yoon fought against K1 and rescued her.
After fighting against K1, Do-Yoon rescued Wan-Soo and rode a boat to the middle of the sea. The following morning, Wan-Soo checked on him when Do-Yoon reminded her of his promise to keep her safe. The two shared a kiss, confessing their love for one another.
Meanwhile, Wan-Soo’s husband and Hwain Group heir, Kim Yong-Guk, came looking for her. Wan-Soo was asleep when Yong-Guk arrived. He suspected her and Do-Yoon of having an affair but kept it to himself.
Back at the Grand Palace, Chairwoman Park Mi-Ran grew furious over a shaman duping her of millions. Han Sang-Il advised her to publicize Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon’s photos, claiming they were having an affair. Mi-Ran decided to go for it.
Soon, the photos reached the press, making it seem like Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon had an affair. Kim Yong-Guk confronted his mother about her affair with Sang-Il, showing no remorse.
Meanwhile, Jang Tae-Ra grew emotional after witnessing their interaction and left home with her son Jun-Hee. At night, Yong-Guk reflected on his proposal to Wan-Soo and their growing distance.
Seo Do-Yoon told Oh Hyun-Soo about the ledgers. Sang-Il agreed to give him the funds but presented another condition: Hyun-Soo had to bring the original ledgers from Do-Yoon. However, after Hyun-Soo confronted Do-Yoon, the latter revealed details about the ledger.
Do-Yoon secretly arrived at Sang-Il’s house and opened the safe. He discovered that Yong-Min was Sang-Il’s son. However, he needed conclusive evidence to prove it.
Kim Yong-Guk held Seo Do-Yoon captive, asking if they had an affair. Do-Yoon revealed that they never slept together and suspected Chairman Kim Duo’s murder. Wan-Soo arrived in time and confessed her love for Do-Yoon.
The following day, lawyers assembled to sort out the will. Sang-Il requested details from one of the main lawyers, but she refused. By the end of the episode, Chairman Kim Duo will disclose his KRW 18 trillion slush funds would go to the NOW Foundation.
