We are then shown that the winner was trained by the MC in secret earlier. This led to the guard in the tournament getting an easy win, though the character can’t accept that.
To him, the victory was the result of teachings by the man who had given him a short training. He was taught one move to counter his enemy and won the fight while using the very same method. But when the trainee asked why the MC knew his opponent would use that technique, he got a half-hearted philosophical answer.
Martial arts are tied to Philosophy on a level. However, it is blatantly clear when a series tries to appear smart with it. Such was the case with the last chapter when the MC threw some random words to make sense of why he taught him that. Guess the trope of everyone except the MC using his head isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

With two participants taking up arms and fighting for a place among the guard for MC, they will be giving their all. The mood among the participants has gone up a lot since the start, as they have gotten hyped after a few matches, despite the penalty for not following through.
In the earlier chapters, we see how the character is uninterested. The reason for that lack of interest was the low position of MC’s household. However, when it was announced that the losers would have to go to the worst place in the country, they got motivated. But as we said, that was then, and now they have invested in the fight thanks to their competitive spirits.
