What the Record of Ragnarok Season 4 Creators Had to Say

The Record of Ragnarok Season 4 announcement also included heartfelt messages from the original creators, who shared their excitement about the anime’s return and teased what fans can expect.

Manga illustrator Azychika shared the most enthusiastic message, saying: “Whaaaaat, Season 4 is happening, everyone!!! That incredible sword fight in the upcoming match is finally coming to life in animation! There’s even a gunfight! And not to mention the tangled, messy love and the swirling conspiracies! To witness this new phase of Record of Ragnarok in animated form… it’s just amazing!!! To everyone involved in bringing this to life, and to everyone watching and supporting us, thank you so much!!”

Story structure writer Takumi Fukui also shared his excitement, saying: ” Would it be…?’ No, no, no…!! ‘As expected’… it’s finally here! Record of Ragnarok Season 4!! Just like fans all around the world, I truly believed it would happen! I can’t wait to see battles so intense they burn into your memory, and souls that shine with blinding passion.”

Story writer Shinya Umemura also shared a message with fans, saying: At last, Season 4! This is all thanks to the incredible efforts of the anime staff, the voice cast, and, above all, the fans around the world who continue to support us. Thank you very much! Season 4 will focus on the 10th and 11th battles. From an all-out, authentic sword-fighting battle to a strategic showdown reminiscent of the Jack the Ripper match, both fights offer the kind of unique expression only animation can deliver. I’m truly looking forward to the day we can all experience them on screen!!

Rounds 10 and 11 Take Center Stage

The upcoming season will adapt the 10th and 11th rounds of the Ragnarok tournament, two battles that many manga fans consider among the best in the series.

The 10th Round features an epic sword duel between Soji Okita, the first captain of the Shinsengumi and one of humanity’s greatest swordsmen, and Susano’o no Mikoto, the Japanese god of storms and the God of Swords. Set in a late-Edo Kyoto-inspired arena, the battle brings together two master swordsmen in a clash of skill, honor, and deadly technique.

The 11th Round takes the action in a completely different direction. Humanity’s representative, Simo Häyhä, the legendary Finnish sniper known as the “White Death,” faces Loki, the Norse God of Mischief. Their battle unfolds in a snowy Finnish forest, where long-range attacks, strategy, and deception replace the close-range fights seen in earlier rounds.
