Record of Ragnarok Chapter 78 is coming near and it will conclude the biggest fight in the series. And this is from the series whose whole premise is about epic fights. Though, the anime may not live up to the epic proportions that the manga series had to offer. The source remains one of the greatest enjoyment and continues to evolve as the series goes on.
We are currently at the eighth battle in the series with Tesla against Beelzebub. As usual, the first thing to look for (and be interested in) is how it builds up character conflict. Two individuals, hailing from different times and backgrounds are up against each for the fate of humankind. (If it were about fulfilling a wish, maybe it would be a different story)
As we have said in the previous articles, Tesla is overconfident and over-optimistic and enjoys the love of discovery. A lot different from the smart and wise person that we know in our timeline. Meanwhile, Baal is an emo kid that means to die for he doesn’t seek meaning in life anymore. He fights Tesla to meet his death, one that he has been wanting for ages.
Record of Ragnarok Chapter 77 Recap
After so many chapters, Record of Ragnarok Chapter 77 had been the epic finale that nobody saw coming. Sure, we have had fights before that worked more or less the same in this regard. But they were mostly about two great beings colliding with each other.
The eighth fight didn’t follow a set path, instead, it saw the evolution of the character as the fight rages on and on. At the start, Baal was taking Tesla lightly and didn’t use any of his special powers. But when he started to realize that the mad scientist is more than what he looked like, he took out his staff.
The staff allowed him to be offensive towards the founder of AC and leave him on the losing end. However, Tesla was not the one to fall to despair, he felt thrilled in being challenged like that. And so the fight went up another gear with Tesla revealing his secret powers. The use of vibration to counteract Baal’s staff.

Record of Ragnarok Chapter 78 Spoilers
Record of Ragnarok Chapter 77 will end with Tesla dying, despite Baal being the one craving death. It was shown in one of the flashbacks that Baal had long given up on life and sought Hades at one point to meet his end. But this world’s Hades was malevolent and wanted to see Baal go on for his journey longer.
The fight will get so intense that we finally saw Baal’s mythical side, but in reality, it was Satan. He will unleash his Flies imbued with the Staff’s energy, it was so overwhelming that Tesla would have no choice but to evolve as well. And through that, he was able to give an inspiring speech to his kind.
And as the winner is declared to be Baal, the next round will be announced with the upcoming fighters. Who can top the intensity that was the fight between Tesla and Baal? The last fight may have ended in Baal’s favor were it not for Satan’s interruption. Speaking of which, will Baal go and confront him about the last fight? Or will he take it in stride?
