Raiders defensive end Janarius Robinson faced legal trouble in Las Vegas this week as he was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Tuesday morning. The arrest occurred around 5:59 AM. near the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard, close to the valet area of the Aria Casino on the strip.
The Raiders have acknowledged the incident and mentioned that they are currently gathering more information. The arrest took place during the Super Bowl week, where the focus is on Las Vegas, and both the Chiefs and 49ers are in town for the big game. Robinson, under contract with the Raiders through the 2024 season, played in six games during the season after being promoted to the active roster in December.
As per court records obtained by News 3, the charge against the Raiders’ player, Robinson, is a misdemeanor. Following his release on his own recognizance on Tuesday, he is scheduled to return to court on June 4.
Robinson has been associated with the Raiders since joining the practice squad on Aug. 31. The 24-year-old spent a significant part of the year on the practice squad before earning promotion to the active roster in December. Subsequently, he participated in the final six games of the season, including two starts.
Robinson secured his sole sack of the season during a 3-0 loss to the Vikings in Week 14, the team that initially drafted him as a fourth-round pick in 2021.
Under contract with the Raiders until the 2024 season, Robinson’s arrest took place during a week when the NFL spotlight was firmly on Las Vegas. With the 49ers and Chiefs both in town for Super Bowl LVIII, scheduled at the Raiders’ home, Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11, Robinson’s arrest occurred approximately two miles away from the stadium.
