In the video games industry, music often distinguishes the good from the truly exceptional titles. Games like Super Mario Bros., Chrono Trigger, or Halo are unimaginable without their iconic soundtracks.
While mobile gaming enjoys immense popularity, its music hasn’t quite permeated the global gaming community’s consciousness. Nonetheless, there are standout tracks in the mobile gaming sphere. On April 20, the band Queen Bee released one such standout track for the mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
The official Japanese and English X (formerly Twitter) accounts for Goddess of Victory: Nikke teased a new opening theme song for the game’s 1.5-year anniversary on April 19, withholding details about the title and performer. However, Queen Bee’s X account promptly announced the next day that they would be performing Nikke’s new theme song, titled “Kubi no nai Tenshi.”
While the promotional video for “Kubi no nai Tenshi” wasn’t immediately available on April 20, Queen Bee disclosed on April 25 via their X account that the song had received the promotional video treatment.
It was subsequently uploaded to both the Japanese and English YouTube channels for Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Additionally, an interview with Queen Bee’s vocalist, Avu-chan, was released on April 26 on both channels.
“Kubi no nai Tenshi” marks Queen Bee’s venture into video game music, and it stands on par with its other notable works. The accompanying interview with Avu-chan offers insights into the song’s creation process. Whether you’re a fan of Queen Bee or Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the promotional video and interview are worth checking out.
