The long-awaited PSYREN anime adaptation has revealed a new trailer, key visual, opening theme, and two additional cast members ahead of its October 2026 premiere. REMOW Co., Ltd. announced the latest details on September 11, giving fans their first substantial look at the psychic battles and devastated future setting that await Ageha Yoshina and his companions.
The upcoming TV anime adapts Toshiaki Iwashiro’s PSYREN, which originally ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010. The story follows high school student Ageha after he discovers a mysterious red telephone card connected to the disappearance of his childhood friend, Sakurako Amamiya. His search eventually transports him into the dangerous world of PSYREN, where survival depends on mastering supernatural psychic abilities known as “PSI.”
The anime will stream globally on Crunchyroll outside Japan, while IVI will handle streaming in Russia. Most significantly for longtime manga readers, the adaptation is planned to tell the story through to its conclusion.
PSYREN’s New Trailer Introduces Its Psychic Battles
The new PSYREN trailer begins with Ageha Yoshina using the mysterious red telephone card that becomes his first major connection to the strange events surrounding Sakurako. After his childhood friend disappears, Ageha becomes involved in rumors concerning a secret organization known as Psyren and is eventually pulled into a deadly game.
The footage then shifts toward the series’ action, showing Ageha, Hiryu Asaga, and other characters using their PSI abilities. Their battles take place against the backdrop of a devastated future world, where uncovering the truth behind PSYREN becomes just as important as surviving its increasingly brutal challenges.
The trailer also previews the anime’s opening theme, “WARNING!!,” performed by three-member unit CLAN QUEEN. The group’s AOi explained that the song was written around the idea of pushing beyond one’s limits even when warning alarms are sounding throughout the body. According to the artist, the track was designed to deliver “raw energy” that matches the intensity of the anime.
CLAN QUEEN is known for its self-described “art rock” approach, combining music and visual creativity around a distinctive artistic identity. The group has gained attention through digital releases, live performances, solo shows, and appearances at major Japanese music festivals.
The group released “Secret Empire” in April 2026 as its first single after moving to Sony Music Labels. CLAN QUEEN is also scheduled to hold its biggest solo concert yet at Tokyo Garden Theater in December.
Two additional voice actors have joined the PSYREN anime cast. Yuhko Kaida voices Matsuri Yagumo, while Nobuyuki Hiyama plays Dolkey, adding two characters with different connections to Ageha’s journey.
Matsuri is Sakurako’s mentor and is portrayed as a dependable big-sister figure despite her fondness for drinks. Kaida said she has enjoyed recording alongside the cast and staff, adding that she is excited for viewers to finally uncover the mysteries surrounding the world of PSYREN.
Hiyama described Dolkey as a relatively straightforward villain and said he particularly enjoyed performing the character’s direct confrontations with the protagonists. The actor also acknowledged the significance of the adaptation arriving years after the original manga’s serialization ended.
The existing cast includes Rikuya Yasuda as Ageha Yoshina, Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Hiryu Asaga, Soma Saito as Oboro Mochizuki, and Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kabuto Kirisaki.

The story begins when Ageha discovers a strange red phone card inside a public telephone booth. Sakurako later disappears after possessing the same type of card, leading Ageha to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances occurring across the country.
His investigation brings him closer to the rumors surrounding Psyren, a mysterious organization allegedly connected to the disappearances. Once Ageha gains access to PSYREN, however, what began as a search for his missing friend becomes a deadly game that fundamentally changes his fate.
The anime is directed by Katsumi Ono, with Shin Yoshida handling series composition and Akira Okuma serving as character designer. Yoshitaka Taniguchi is responsible for creature design, while Kenichi Tajiri serves as art director.
Harumi Goto and Kiho Sakai are handling photography direction, with Ryoko Kaneshige overseeing editing and Satoshi Motoyama serving as sound director. The music is composed by Takashi Ohmama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu, while SATELIGHT is producing the animation.
Originally nominated three times for the “MANGA WE WANT TO SEE ANIMATED” poll, PSYREN has maintained a dedicated following despite ending its manga run more than a decade ago. The new anime therefore represents a long-awaited opportunity to bring Iwashiro’s complete psychic battle story to a new audience.
