Earlier this month, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton (42) had to undergo a ‘planned abdominal surgery’ at The London Clinic on Tuesday.
As per the Kensington Palace announcement, the surgery was successful, but the princess is expected to stay at the hospital for 10 to 14 days to recover properly following the cancellation of the scheduled engagements with Kate Middleton.
The Prince of Wales and husband of Kate Middleton has been seen being beside his wife during her recovery period.
It has also been heard that Prince William has canceled a few of his scheduled engagements to take care of his wife and spend as much time as possible.
Prince William wants to spend time beside Kate Middleton during her recovery days
After Kensington Palace announced the abdominal surgery of the Princess of Wales on Thursday, Prince William was photographed leaving the private London Clinic at around 12:35 PM (local time).
As per the report by the U.K. newspaper The Telegraph, Prince of Wales had driven to the hospital by himself.
Prince William is also reportedly said to be planning to spend more time beside his wife while she’s recovering from her surgery, along with looking after their three children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5), to balance a little time with them at home in Windsor during the absence of their mother.
A statement from Kensington Palace reads, “The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.”
Further, the statement shared that, “based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”
The Princess of Wales had also shared her interest in this statement and mentioned that she’s been hoping for the public to understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible. Princess Kate wishes her personal medical information to remain private.
Further, “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant information to share” is added to the given statement.
As per the report, Prince William is more likely to postpone some of his engagements to be at Kate’s side, along with supporting their family in this hard time. They’ve also delayed the upcoming planned international trips.
The Princess of Wales has also shared her apologies to those who concern themselves with the postponement of her upcoming engagements, and she’s looking forward to resuming “as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
On Christmas, the Princess of Wales was last seen making a public appearance for the annual tradition of walking to the church while getting a public present there after the service along with her royal family members. After this, the Princess of Wales had to return to take care of her royal duties in 2024.
Last week, Prince William was spotted at the Headingly Stadium in Leeds, making his first official outing of the new year.
There, he joined two of his friends who helped raise money for research and work, Rob Burrow and Kevin Stanfield, to combat motor neuron disease after Burrow was diagnosed with MND in December 2019.
The royal family seems to fall under one more problematic shadow, as following the news revealed by Kensington Palace about the Princess of Wales’ surgery, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles is about to have a treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The statement also shared that the King will be attending the hospital next week for a ‘corrective procedure’, also mentioning that the condition is ‘benign.’
