The series stars Jaalen Best as Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali, offering a dramatized exploration of the athlete’s transformation into one of the most influential global icons in sports and humanitarian history. The project has been positioned as the first fully authorized scripted adaptation of Ali’s life, providing rare narrative access to his personal and professional journey.

The premiere date for “The Greatest” was confirmed during the ESSENCE Festival of Culture® mainstage event, moderated by journalist Kelley Carter (ESPN and ABC News). The presentation featured creator and showrunner Ben Watkins, along with lead actor Jaalen Best and cast members Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, Kai Parham, and Michael Ealy.
