The ending of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin season 1 was jam-packed with revelations, and in typical franchise style, there were a ton of surprises that were worth delving into. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the man behind the wildly successful Pretty Little Liars franchise, used the basis of “Liars” and “A” to develop a new and fascinating story in Original Sin, which marked the beginning of a new era. Although most stories were resolved in the Original Sin season 1 finale, the last episode ended on a significant cliffhanger.
Although the majority of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin focused on a group of kids in the present, the plot heavily referenced an incident that happened in 1999. The tragedy was the death of Angela Waters, a young woman who had close ties to Faran, Noa, Imogen, Tabby, and Mouse, as well as Corey Bryant, Marjorie Olivar, Davie Adams, Sidney Haworthe, and Elodie Honrada. After Davie was killed, “A” started picking on the teenagers, who took it upon themselves to figure out what had happened to Angela and how she was related to “A.”
Pretty Little Liars Original Sin Season 1 Finale Explained
Tyler Marchand had been murdered by the masked assailant known only as “A.” Even though Noa, Faran, Imogen, Tabby, and Mouse had received a message from “A” and were aware of what had happened, they chose not to tell their moms or the police. The sixth individual who paid a visit to Rose Waters, Angela Waters’ mother, in Radley Sanitarium remains a mystery to the daughters. When Imogen and Tabby were molested, they thought it might have been the same person. The girls were aware that Millwood High was hosting a blood donation camp and that they could take advantage of it.
They wanted to verify the boys’ DNA samples before performing a paternity test. A book was delivered to Sidney Hayworthe’s front door. The book was often taken by Angela Waters multiple times from Millwood High library. A note was written for Sidney on the back of the name card. The sign read, “Silence Kills.” It took Sidney back to that year in 1999. She remembered walking into the bathroom and seeing Angela seated there. She remembered informing the other girls about it and their deliberate decision to abandon her. Sidney was aware that Angela had, in fact, been sexually assaulted, but she lacked the courage to confront Davie and the other girls in her group who believed Angela was lying.
Tabby And Imogen’s Investigation
Tabby and Imogen went to see crazy Joe once again. They believed that if he was the source of their information regarding Radley Sanitarium, he would be familiar with the sixth visitor’s signature. Joe instructed them to immediately stop their search. It appeared as though he wished to try to warn them of the dangers of wandering through a territory they were unfamiliar with. Tabby had a gut feeling that the guy who had molested them was a football player. It was because of the fact that several football players were present at the bonfire party where she was molested.
In addition to donating blood, the girls entered the football team’s locker room and gathered items and hair strands in order to determine the footballers’ DNA. To their surprise, none of the football team’s DNA samples matched Imogen’s baby. Sidney Hayworth, Tabby’s mother, had said something to her that kept ringing in her ears. According to her, often, the one who is closest to your heart has the nerve to carry out such a terrible act. Sidney was suspecting Wes when she said that. But Tabby had a hunch that perhaps Chip was the one who had molested both her and Imogen.
Investigation On Chip
Chip attended Karen’s party. He had made advances on Tabby, but she had rejected him. Chip stormed out of the scene, upset. After arguing with Karen about Greg, Imogen had become drunk at the same party. She had visited the beach that same night. She didn’t recall anything from the evening until she discovered someone had molested her there. Tabby questioned Greg if Chip was also there at the bonfire party. Although Greg was unsure of it, he vaguely recalled seeing him at the party. Imogen told Tabby that if Chip was truly the culprit, then he would have had her missing underwear. Imogen discovered that her undergarment was missing when she awoke on the beach. The idea that the molester could have kept it as a memento made her shiver.
Imogen and Tabby went to Chip’s house while he was not there. They told his mom that they had to collect something out of his room and by doing so, got a chance to search the entire area. They searched there, but to their disappointment, they could find nothing. There was just one choice left for them. They made the decision to confront Chip and try to force a confession from him. They arrived at the Orpheum, the theater where Chip and Tabby once worked. Imogen and Tabby revealed to Chip that they had compared the DNA samples and were certain that he had sexually assaulted both of them.
Chip Was The Molester
They only played a trick and didn’t actually have any DNA samples. They explained to him that all they wanted was closure and that they would report him to the police if he didn’t tell them the truth. Chip fell for the trick and admitted to the crime. He went to the beach and discovered Imogen there after Tabby rejected him at Karen’s party. Before she could recover her senses, he abused her and left. At the bonfire party, he did the same to Tabby.
Imogen’s pregnancy made Chip feel bad, so he offered to be her partner. The girls informed him that they would report his crime to the police departments. They suddenly noticed a scary figure behind Chip. The returning attacker was “A,” the masked murderer. The girls informed “A” that Chip was the one who had molested them before he left the theater grounds. Since “A” had a grudge against the guilty, he chased him.
Who Molested Angela Waters?
It was still unclear if Kelly Beasley was indeed Kelly or Karen because of her suspicious behavior. She gave Henry an accidental kiss before hooking up with Greg and telling him to call her Karen. Imogen believed that her mother had been killed by “A” rather than committed suicide, so she went to contact Sheriff Beasley. She asked for permission to exhume her mother’s corpse. Sheriff Beasley agreed to help her in her quest, but before he could, someone had already dug up Davie Adams’ grave and removed the body.
Kelly informed Faran that her father was torturing her. She warned her that if things continued as they were, she would quickly go insane. Her father emotionally abused her. He was always telling her that she should have fallen down the rafter instead of Karen. After hearing all of it, Faran was unable to remain silent. She went to Sheriff Beasley and informed him that he would undoubtedly suffer the consequences if he attempted to harm Kelly in any way.
Sheriff Beasley Was The Molester
Some police officers pulled Faran’s father over for breaking traffic rules. She believed that it happened because she had threatened Sheriff Tom Beasley. She went to his residence and told Kelly and her mother, Martha Beasley, about Tom Beasley’s abuse of young boys. When she wasn’t expecting it, Martha Beasley then told her something. She told her that Angela Waters had been sexually assaulted by Sheriff Tom Beasley. Faran gave the same information to the others. They were shocked by the fact. If Sheriff Beasley had committed the crime, then why was the killer “A” after the moms of the girls and not him?
Sheriff Beasley ordered Kelly and her mom not to leave their home until he told them to. It was more of a command than advice or a recommendation. He had kept them both confined within the house. Kelly found a way to get outside and meet Faran. She informed her that her father had learned that her mom had informed Faran about him and Angela Waters. Kelly was tired of her father’s verbal and emotional abuse.
Kelly wanted to leave the house after Imogen texted her to ask for her help. Her attempt to leave the house was once more stopped by Tom Beasley. Martha used a knife to attack her husband. She stabbed him because she had made the decision that she and her daughter would not suffer the consequences of his mistakes. Kelly then went straight to Greg and asked him for help. She knew that her friends might require some help.
The Identity Of A
Imogen, Tabby, Mouse, Faran, and Noa broke into Angela Waters’ house. They had speculated that the masked assassin might be crazy Joe. They believed he had committed himself, but after A returned to the scene, they realized they were missing some important information. The girls were suspicious when they noticed two different height markers on the walls. Crayons were kept in one of the rooms, next to the cage. The girls once more got a message from “A.” As he had taken their mothers hostage, they were ordered to head to Millwood High.
When they arrived at their school, they learned that “A” had given them a specific task to complete. He had abducted people who had in some way tormented or bullied the five girls. He had left a note directing the girls to hurt them in each of their rooms. Faran saw Madame Giry in the designated space. Faran had received constant criticism from the dance teacher. Mouse ran into Steve, the man who used to play the pretend game with her and pretend to be her father. Noa found the con artist who took advantage of her mother, and Tabby found Chip bound to a chair in her room.
Her mother’s body was kept in Imogen’s bedroom. She came to the realization that “A,” not Sheriff Beasley as she had assumed, had dug up her mother’s corpse. The girls showed empathy and disobeyed A’s orders. Their mothers were locked in the theatre when they were called there. When Principal Clanton showed up, they were shocked to see him. He admitted that he had a relationship with Rose Waters when he was in college. He was the father of Angela Waters, and the masked man he named as “A” was actually Angela’s twin brother. His name was Archie, and he desired to exact revenge for his sister’s death. Principal Clanton and Rose could never get married because his parents would not allow it. Rose and her family were in need of some money, so Clanton’s family agreed to pay them off and told them to relocate.

After a long absence, Rose returned to the town when Clanton was appointed vice principal. She wanted Angela to attend Millwood High School to study. But she had no idea what fate had in store for her. Clanton blamed Angela’s friends more than he blamed Sheriff Beasley. Sheriff Beasley’s then-girlfriend Davie Adams didn’t think Angela was real. Instead of the victim, she gave her partner the benefit of the doubt. She became upset when she learned that Angela was accusing her boyfriend of assaulting her. She sided with Beasley and told everyone to ignore Angela to the point where she began to doubt her very existence. When Angela came to the 1999 Y2K party, she was in a terrible state.
She wanted to be heard and was getting tired of everything. She committed suicide by jumping off the rafter. Principal Clanton had planned to murder the girls with their mothers and blame Beasley, but Clanton hadn’t known that Beasley had been stabbed by his wife. Clanton told Imogen that although she had a child in her womb, he would be kind enough to give her a head start but would not spare her. Archie followed Imogen as she ran. While this was going on, Kelly and Greg arrived at the place. After defeating principal Clanton, the girls ran to help their friend Imogen, who was being chased by “A.” Imogen somehow managed to stab “A” and assumed that he was dead.
It was a fresh start for the girls, along with their families. They wanted to put the past behind them because they had suffered enough loss. Unlike Marjorie, who made the decision to attend rehab, Imogen was placing her baby for adoption. Mouse’s parents were attending couples counseling, and Cory Bryant made the decision to remain in Millwood and work things out with her husband. Although it seemed like a happy ending, we soon understood that letting go of the horrors of the past was not as simple as it seemed.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’ Season 2
Season 1 of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin ends on a cliffhanger. Archie, a.k.a. “A,” was Angela’s brother and was still alive. He murdered Sheriff Beasley in the health center and then managed to escape from the facility. He went to Chip’s house and most likely killed him with a knife. Archie and his father always blamed the moms of the girls more so than Sheriff Beasley. They believed that Angela’s depression was the result of their patronizing attitude. When she most needed them, after bullying her, they stopped being there for her. Archie still had not exacted his revenge.
He would undoubtedly want to punish the guilty in “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” season 2. Principal Clanton had made it abundantly obvious that the moms’ actions would have serious repercussions and that their girls would also have to endure those repercussions. Given that Archie and Principal Clanton are now nowhere to be found and that their identities are revealed, it will be interesting to see how they plan their next step. Season 2 will reveal if Imogen and her friends are able to escape the danger or fall to the terrifying masked killer.
