Power Book ll: Ghost surrounds the story of a young man Tariq St. Patrick. Things take a different turn for him, as he has to cope with the harsh realities of this world. Since the day his father passed away, Tariq has been seeing his mother’s struggle as she is convicted for James St. Patrick’s murder. But it seems that this wasn’t the case, as Tariq killed his father. Tariq wants to earn money so that he can get his mother out of jail by getting the money the lawyer needs. But soon, Tariq gets drawn into the chain of drugs, and he begins his journey with several dangerous people that could harm him genuinely.
According to the creators of this show, Tariq was one of the most hated characters. None of the fans sympathized with his role. Even though the makers tried their best to keep him in a good light, but with each episode, the viewers began hating on him even more. The first season covers up all the major decisions taken by Tariq as he tries his best to juggle his life amidst his college and drug chain. Most of the viewers didn’t appreciate his alliance with the powerful Tejada family as things could become stressful if conditions are not met.
The ending of the first season was very confusing for the fans. Things take a different turn after Tommy Egan returns to the show. Even after leaving the prison, Tasha confesses that Tommy will be coming for them. Soon, Tariq catches up to Monet and tells her to keep Tariq out of this drug dealing business. But Monet reveals that she didn’t approach him. It was him instead. Tasha is scared for him because Monet’s son tried to kill Tariq. And he didn’t want her son to turn out that way. As soon, Tasha realizes that Tommy is back, she heads back to Stansfield University to get her son back.
Since they had to leave the town as soon as possible moreover, many fans loved the comeback of Tommy Egan. As for them, this was one of the best ways to end the first season. Things heated up as soon as Tommy and Tariq met each other. And throughout the whole season, this was pretty evident. However, their conversation was very awkward. Tommy confesses that he wants to finish off his mother, and he’s got no grudges for Tariq since he respects his Father.
Tariq somehow convinces Tommy to fake his death, and surprisingly he ends up agreeing to his plans. Tommy crashes into a fake explosion, and the car is destroyed in the fire. He wanted the cops to follow him since they would be around Tasha always. So by this point, everybody thinks that Tommy is dead, including Tasha. Tariq did this to help Tommy since his mother was about to testify against him in court. But he doesn’t listen to him and tries to kill Tasha again. But guess what? Tariq did this to trap him, and now Tommy is very upset. He tries to kill Tariq, but Monet points a gun at his head. Towards the end, Tariq tells him that if he ever meets him again, he will be grown enough to carry his father’s name.

The fifth episode of Power Book ll: Ghost season 2 premiered on December 19, 2021. This episode covered a lot of key points and shocked the fans with the conspiracies of this episode. Episode 5 starts with Zeke turning himself in with the cops. On the other hand, Tariq is trying his best to get his sister back. Moreover, most of the fans think that Lauren is trying to create a huge problem for him. Instead, she is trying to help him out. But somehow, her methods are wrong.
Zeke’s attention is on Tariq as well. Since the detectives are sure that Tariq is up to something and they might find some potential details from him. Kamal has information on Tariq and he ends up telling this to Kevin Whitman. And this is primarily because of his father as they have a lot of rumors around them. On the other hand, Cane is busy looking for Tariq. But Braden insists that he isn’t. Moreover, Professor Carrie Milgram is well aware of Tariq’s involvement in Jabari Reynolds’ case. Towards the end of Season 2 episode 5, Tariq ends up talking about his connection with Jabari’s murder, and now the detectives have enough proof to arrest him. On the other hand, Cane is aware of Monet’s actions, and he confronts her. According to him, Monet is trying to use everybody to get whatever she wants. Even Tariq cleared this up to Monet. He tells her that she doesn’t control anything. And to be precise, Monet needs Tariq.
The scene then moves on to the court hearing. Wherein Tariq is fighting for his sister’s custody. So the judge finally decides to give him temporary custody of Yasmin. On the other hand, Kamal and other detectives are all set to arrest Tariq after they find evidence from his desk. Moreover, Yasmin and Tariq are really happy to have each other. But sadly, Tariq is arrested. On the other hand, Lorenzo is back home. In the upcoming episode, the creators will surely explain his impact on Mecca and Monet’s life.
