Taking us back to 1991, the show Power Book III: Raising Kanan follows the life of young Kanan, who, throughout the show, learns to navigate in a world so full of glamor and politics, forcing him to rise against the cruel world and build his path.
The crime series is a creation of Sascha Penn and has been airing since 2021. Currently, in the middle of airing its third season, the show has already been given the green light for a fourth season too. This is the story of Kanan, who has finally waged a war against his family, including his mother, Raq, a powerful woman who has the southside Jamaica in her palms.
Raq has her brothers, Marvin and Lou-Lou, by her side to help her run her kingdom. Not wanting to be under her mother’s wings anymore, Kanan has set out to find his way, though his mother continues to keep an eye on him. With Kanan wanting to build his empire and Raq wanting to protect hers, there will be rising conflicts and increased outside threats.
The show has brought together actors Patina Miller, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Joey Badass, Shanley Caswell, Hailey Kilgore, Mekai Curtis, Lovie Simone, and many others in supporting roles. The iconic nature of the lead villains in the story continues to be exceptional in the show and is something that fans look forward to.
While it has been extended from the original Power series, the show can very well stand its ground. It continues to expand the Power world with new characters and complex plotlines. Make sure you stay till the end to learn more about the upcoming episodes of this thrilling series.
Recap
In the last episode, we saw Raq bid goodbye to the empire she built with her hands. Her farewell came as such an unexpected shock to fans, but we learned that she was going to perform just one last task for the mafia, after which she would take her hands off the game completely.
While the mother seems to be done leading an empire, it seems like Kanan is only getting started. With each season, he gets involved in something illegal on a deeper level, and in the last episode, we saw him firmly place his feet in the drug business.
He is just getting started, and there is a lot more we can expect. There is a certain excitement radiating off of him. He is quick to come up with innovative ideas to run a drug business and eventually make something big out of it.
In the upcoming episode, we will finally get to witness Kanan and his partner in crime, Famous, launch their first-ever business, a weed delivery business, and we are rooting for him. While Jukebox gets ready for her audition, tensions and paranoia continue to rise in Raq and Howard, who we saw was approached by the Task Force.
Things seem to be looking up for Kanan, but the situation could not be more gloomy and nerve-wracking for his mother, Raq.
