Courtney A. Kemp’s and 50 Cent’s successful series Power is back with another prequel season. Case in point Power Book III: Raising Kanan, as we further explore how Kanan Stark became who he became in the original series and how it relates with the back stories of his defeated foes, his former allies, and the allies he created along the way.
Ahead of its premiere, we prepared for you a few details concerning the potential plotlines, the when, the how, and the where to watch this crime series that has managed to grab the attention of the public since the first and original Power came back in its day. Now, without further ado, let’s see what Raising Kanan season three has in store for us.
Preview
Season three is likely to pick up right on where we left off in the sophomore season, in Jamaica Queens’s Southside, just as the Thomases are in turmoil, and they are trying to pick up the pieces and move on after the mob went after Raquel, Lou Lou, and Marvin. After that close call, Raquell wants to hit the reset button, but Kanan has no qualms and doesn’t trust her, and he doesn’t believe when she says it is done.
Is everyone out of the drug game once they get in that sort of business? In any case, we see how Stefano the Mafia Don is back, along with two possible antagonists, Pop, played by Erika Woods, and Snaps, played by Wendell Pierce.
We’ve seen the two seasons of Raising Kanan slowly learning a few things about himself. It’s been painful to watch in a story character arc development sort of way. With each new revelation, Kanan is faced with dealing in strong confrontations with his family’s well-entrenched web of lies and deceit.
Now, in season three, Kanan is stuck between right and wrong. The Thomas family must deal with the existential crisis that challenges who and what they are.
We got Marvin trying to redeem his sorry ass., we got Raq who wants out of the game, we got Lou trying to…well not be Lou, and we got Jukebox as she struggles with how she deals with her own family’s troubles in what promises to be an exciting season.
