Under The Oak Tree, a popular web novel set in an age of swords and sorcery, has gained a following for its compelling characters and intense action scenes.

In a recent interview, the series’ illustrator “P” revealed that the action in Under The Oak Tree draws inspiration from Vinland Saga, particularly its realistic yet fantastical battle sequences featuring Thorfinn and his fellow vikings.

Created by writer Kim Suji and illustrated by “P,” Under The Oak Tree tells the story of Lady Maximilian, the daughter of Duke Croyso.

Sheltered due to her stutter, Maxi is forced into marriage with Sir Riftan, a lowborn knight entangled in her father’s schemes. Their relationship gets off to a rocky start, and Riftan leaves immediately after their wedding.

Three years later, Riftan returns as a war hero and, despite rumors of a potential marriage to Princess Agnes, he still desires Maxi as his wife. Maxi is bewildered by Riftan’s longing and must adjust to her new life while discovering her own strength and courage.

As for future adaptations, there is no confirmation yet of an anime for Under The Oak Tree. Meanwhile, Vinland Saga, which has been successful, awaits news of a potential third season.
