Polish Eagles Awards Dominated By Cold War

After being nominated in numerous categories in the awards, the Cold War just swept home most of them. It won a total of seven awards including the best movie, best cinematography, best script, best actress and also the best director categories. Joanna Kulig is the lead actress who won the best actress award. This movie is based on a post-war love affair which is just filled with hardships all along the way.

As I said it won seven awards out of 12, it was nominated for. This movie was also shortlisted for Oscars in the foreign best film category. The only heartbreaking moment at the awards came for the lead actor of Cold War, Tomasz Kot who didn’t win the best actor award and just came short to the lead actor of the movie titled Clergy, he goes by the name Jacek Braciak. Clergy also won some other awards of its own including the best actor one like best music category and also the best supporting actor category.

Here are some other honours won by others, the best TV show was named Blinded By The Lights. The Best Documentary award was given to The Prince And The Dybukk, which was produced by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosolowksi.

This year the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Krzysztof Zanussi, a famous Polish director, and screenwriter. The honor of European Film of the Year went to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Cold War has gathered some serious praise all over the world, and I personally do recommend all of you to watch this awesome movie.

The story is set in the 1950s; the story is about a music director who falls for a singer. He then tries to make her flee from communist Poland to France with him. Yup the plot is too damn interesting, so make sure you watch this awesome movie.
