Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves may still be more than a year away from release, according to a new leak circulating among Pokémon insiders. The rumored release window points to November 2027, which would place the next mainline Pokémon games considerably later than many fans expected.
The November claim surfaced shortly after the 2026 Pokémon World Championships concluded without a major update on the upcoming Gen 10 titles. While the games were featured at the Pokémon XP event, no new trailer or release-date announcement was provided during the Worlds closing ceremonies. The Pokémon Company has only officially confirmed that Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will launch worldwide in 2027 as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives.
Pokémon Winds and Waves reportedly targeting November 2027
The latest release-date rumor originated with Pokémon leaker BallGuy, who claimed that Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are planned for November 2027. The information was subsequently shared by Centro LEAKS and another leaker known as Kurwa, giving the claim additional visibility within the Pokémon leak community. However, none of the accounts provided official documentation or evidence that establishes November 2027 as Game Freak’s confirmed launch target.

The timing is nevertheless plausible because November has historically been an important release period for major Pokémon generations. Pokémon Sun and Moon, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet all launched in November, making the month a logical target for another major generation if Game Freak follows its established pattern.
There is also a reason to believe fans may have to wait until 2027 for the next substantial marketing push. Earlier reports from Pokémon leak accounts claimed that concrete information about Winds and Waves would not arrive until next year, and the absence of a major announcement at Pokémon Worlds has reinforced that possibility. Pokémon Day 2027, held on February 27 if the annual schedule continues, could therefore become an important opportunity for The Pokémon Company to reveal more details.
For now, the November 2027 window should be treated strictly as a rumor rather than a confirmed release date. The official Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves website states only that the games will receive a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027, while The Pokémon Company has confirmed their open-world setting, Nintendo Switch 2 exclusivity, and three new first partner Pokémon: Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua.
If the November report is accurate, fans could still be waiting well into next year before Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves finally arrive. Until Game Freak or The Pokémon Company announces an exact date, however, the rumored month remains unverified.
