The Pittsburgh Steelers faced quarterback uncertainties throughout the 2023 season, starting with Kenny Pickett but ultimately turning to Mason Rudolph in the playoffs. General manager Omar Khan acknowledges the ongoing evaluation of their quarterback situation and expressed openness to various options, including acquiring a veteran, drafting a new player, or sticking with their current roster.
“We’re looking at everything. I have an obligation to this organization, to the players, to the front office, to every member of Steelers nation, to look at every option, every way of trying to improve this team. And we’re going to do so,” stated Khan.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Khan maintains “full faith” in Kenny Pickett, indicating a potential continuation of Pickett as part of the Steelers’ plans. The team is exploring all avenues to enhance its quarterback position for the upcoming season.
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan expressed optimism about the quarterback situation for the upcoming season, particularly regarding Kenny Pickett. Khan highlighted that new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is expected to have a positive impact on Pickett, and the team anticipates strong competition at the quarterback position.
Kenny Pickett, who played in 12 games last season, is set to face competition from Mason Rudolph. Pickett finished with a 7-5 record, a 62.0% completion rate, 2,070 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions. Rudolph, who started and won three games as QB1 in Pickett’s absence, showcased a 74.3% completion rate with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Jaguars are optimistic about the progress under Arthur Smith’s offensive guidance and are eager to witness the competition unfold during the upcoming season.
