The other half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, Piper Niven, has been conspicuously absent from WWE events lately. Her final match happened on February 5th, during the WWE Main Event taping. Later on, information surfaced that Niven’s hand ailment had kept him out of the game.
Piper Niven’s Road to Recovery
Piper Niven talked openly about her injury in an interview with Gorilla Position, revealing that she fractured her hand in February. She said, “Who wants to see my gross hand?” with a hint of amusement. My hand broke [laughs]. Practicing and aiming for improved performance.
The cosmos was obviously saying, “No, no, no, you’re too good.” [Laughs] Hey, you have to give other people a chance. I broke my hand, which is regrettably still quite painful.
She noted that it has been just over two months since the accident occurred and pinpointed the incident to February 7th. “It’s getting a little better, so I’ll have this gnarly little bone callous that I can’t wait to backfist people with,” says Niven, who is upbeat despite the setback.
Niven acknowledged that she had not yet received approval to return when questioned about it. She does, however, see the injury as a crucial learning opportunity and uses her time off to concentrate on her development both personally and professionally.
Since I’ve never genuinely broken a bone, I feel like this was kind of required.I have previously gone out, particularly with COVID-19. However, I’ve never really been hurt, and I think this was a really necessary learning experience for me,” she shared.
Niven remains optimistic about her comeback, expressing eagerness to showcase her improved skills upon her return. She said, “I’m very, very excited to show everyone that when I get back.”
Regarding a potential character reset upon her return, Niven acknowledged the possibility, stating, “Yes, I think so. Or maybe a better understanding of the character, a better understanding of myself.”
