Japanese entertainer PIKOTARO has released a new single, “Pee Poop Party People feat. Beverly,” continuing his signature blend of absurd humor and catchy pop. The track, scheduled for release on March 25 at 00:00 (local store time), arrives as part of his ongoing pre-10th anniversary project tied to the legacy of “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen).”
The single is featured on Tottemo Release 80.8 (08), marking the eighth installment in PIKOTARO’s monthly rollout leading up to the anniversary milestone. This time, the theme centers on a universally relatable childhood moment, learning to use the toilet reframed through a high-energy pop lens.
Adding a distinct musical layer is Japan-based Filipina singer Beverly, whose powerful vocal range contrasts with the deliberately playful and comedic concept. The track leans into exaggerated wordplay and a sing-along structure, aiming to transform a routine developmental stage into something more entertaining and memorable.
Producer Daimaou Kosaka commented on the unconventional concept: “Pee is ‘pee’, poop is ‘poop’. How cute is that! Beverly is the only person who could sing this song! This is crazy. Beverly is the absolute best!”
PIKOTARO also addressed the collaboration in his characteristic style: “I barely sing in this song, piko. But it’s my song, piko. Mr. Daimaou Kosaka makes no sense, piko! But it’s the strongest collaboration of a song, so I want to deliver it to everyone around the world who’s going through toilet training, piko! All of us are Pee Poop Party People!”
Beverly described her initial reaction to the track while highlighting its musical appeal: “When I first saw the title, I thought, ‘What is this song?’ But I was really drawn to the witty lyrics and the contrast with the challenging high-tone melody. It’s perfect for toilet training! I hope everyone will listen to this song and love it!”
Ahead of the official release, Beverly is scheduled to appear on NACK5’s FAV FOUR, hosted by Daimaou Kosaka, on March 18 for the track’s radio debut.
With its combination of novelty humor, strong vocal performance, and intentionally unconventional theme, “Pee Poop Party People” reinforces PIKOTARO’s approach to pop, leaning into absurdity while maintaining broad, accessible appeal.
