Phish gave their fans a big surprise on the night of August 26. They were having a concert to support people impacted by flooding in New York and Vermont. During the second part of the show at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga, New York, they had an unexpected event.
Derek Trucks, who usually plays guitar in Tedeschi Trucks Band, joined Phish for the final tour songs. They began with a song called “Golden Age”, which was originally by a band called TV on the Radio.
Then, the band began playing a 13-minute improvised version of the song “Everything’s Right”. After that, they played “A Life Beyond the Dream”, which is a song from Phish’s newest album called “Sigma Oasis”, which came out in 2020. They ended their performance with an energetic eight-minute rendition of the lively song “First Tube”.
While they played this song, Derek Trucks and Phish’s guitarist Trey Anastasio took turns playing cool guitar solos. They took a little break, and then Derek Truck stayed on the stage to play another song. They performed Phish’s song “Possum” as a special ending to the show.
