In an early interview in 2015, the former cricketer stated how after his second divorce from ex-wife Lisa Bar back in 1998, he was determined to keep looking for love, and he just kept going looking for a bit of love and finally found it with his present wife, Dawn. As their marital bliss has been going on for 13 years, Phil calls Dawn the most honest and the most loyal woman he has ever met. He also called her a great friend.
While looking back, Phil recalled how when one is away from home a lot, and there is the odd temptation, as when Phil was playing, their wives and girlfriends were not allowed to accompany them on long tours.
