Phantom of the idol’s last episode was full of exciting photoshoots and cosplays, bringing us to the second anniversary of ZINGS in Episode 9. ZINGS are now growing, both in popularity as well as a group. Peoples tend to recognize them all thanks to Asahi’s efforts. With that, it has been two years since ZINGS was established, so a lovely performance is coming right up.
Those who don’t know Phantom of the idol is an anime based on the life of a lazy Idol, Yuuya, who became an idol for easy money. His performances are equivalent to skeletons dancing on the floor or even worse. Kazuki Yoshino and Yuuya Niyodo, also known as ZINGS, are newly formed idol duos. Where Kazuki Yoshino was giving his best to perform and gain an audience, it seemed like idol wasn’t a thing for Yuuya Niyodo. Due to his emotionless performance, ZINGS was on the verge of collapse when Yuuya met a phantom of an idol.
Asahi was once a charming and well know idol who died one year prior in a car crash. Her unfulfilled desire of living as an idol kept her in the mortal world. She was wandering around all across the world, unable to contact any living human. But things changed when she visited one of the concerts of ZINGS she was able to meet a man who could see and talk to her.
They were destined to meet. Yuuya and Asahi were able to interchange bodies occasionally willingly. Yuuya surrenders himself to Asahi when it’s time to perform on stage. The ZINGS was revived, and it worked pretty well; things started to change.
Phantom of the idol Episode 8 Recap
Kazuki Yoshino and Yuuya Niyodo are on a photo shoot for the Idol’s calendar. Fans were requested to fill in the suggestions on how they would like to see their idols dressed up. The three hardcore fans of ZINGS, you know who I am talking about, submitted their hearted desired dress suggestions, and it seems like they were the only ones. They recommended a swimsuit, Christmas, and a cosplay wearing glasses as a suggestion.
As always, Kazuki Yoshino was tired of this extra effort. He doesn’t even want to swim because he has pushed his body to do so. That’s not gonna work out, so Asahi switched with him and gave an energetic photoshoot. After that, all the photo shoots went well, and here comes the day of the calendar release. Soul left out from fans’ bodies seeing some glamorous photos of Yuuya. At the end of the episode, we also saw Setouchi Hikaru admiring Yuuya’s photoshoot and posting a positive review on his website.
