Seinfeld writer Larry Charles, who is also known for directing Sacha Baron Cohen’s movies Borat, Bruno, and The Dictator, was among those paying tribute.

Peter Crombie was a wonderfully subtle actor. His portrayal of Joe Davola managed to feel real, grounded, psychopathic, absurd, and hilarious all at the same time. This was a juxtaposition Larry was always seeking in his Seinfeld episodes and reached a climax of sorts with ‘The Opera’. Seinfeld was a sitcom that could make anyone uncomfortable, and no guest actor walked that line better than Peter.
One of his friends and comedians, Lewis Black, wrote on Instagram that he was heartbroken by the death of his best and closest friend. He also mentioned that Peter was a gifted actor and an immensely talented writer. He was also very intelligent and was so sweet to all his friends.
His friend Bill Stetz wrote on Facebook that he was really sad after hearing the demise of his friend. He also pointed out that Peter was an amazing soul who was gentle and loyal to all his friends and family. He also mentioned how talented Peter was and his immense talent in writing.
