As Link in Nintendo’s live-action “Legend of Zelda” film, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” star Walker Scobell has become a fan favorite. However, in an interview with Variety at the “Percy Jackson” premiere in New York City, the 14-year-old actor admitted that he was unsure about accepting the role.
Scobell said, “I’m not really sure. I’m not sure if I would enjoy playing Link. I would absolutely, positively consider it if they approached me.” In response to a question concerning his knowledge of the Legend of Zelda series, he said, “I have played ‘Breath of the Wild.'” My dad enjoys playing Legend of Zelda, but I haven’t played the new game called “Tears of the Kingdom.” When he was younger, he used to play the games.”
Scobell shared his experience with Camp Half-Blood
Scobell talked about his experience entering the world of Camp Half-Blood. Scobell is currently swinging a sword as the title character in the Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which is based on Rick Riordan’s well-known young adult book series.
His favorite aspect of the camp was the happiness and excitement of everyone there, even though he thought it was “weird seeing so many people” in the recognizable orange T-shirts.
The premiere was attended by a number of “Percy Jackson” cast members and creative team members, including director James Bobbin, actors Aryan Simhadri, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Suzanne Cryer, Virginia Kull, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Timm Sharp, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Timothy Omundson. Attendees walked the red carpet in front of the Temple of Dendur in the Egyptian wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Rick Riordan, expressed his excitement about turning the book into one season of television
Author of “Percy Jackson,” Rick Riordan, expressed his excitement about the possibility of turning each book in the series into a television season, saying, “I would love if we get to that point, to be able to turn every [‘Percy Jackson’] book into one season of television because that would give us enough time to do it right.”
He expressed his wish to see all of his book series, such as “The Kane Chronicles” and “Heroes of Olympus,” adapted for the big screen with his spouse and fellow executive producer Becky Riordan.
Riordan underlined the interconnectedness of his book series and stressed the value of starting with “Percy Jackson” to lay a strong foundation before delving into other stories.
On December 20, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will make its Disney+ debut with a two-episode premiere. Furthermore, Hulu will offer simultaneous streaming of the first episode.
More about Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ TV Series
Disney+ is officially turning the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series into a television show.
Author Rick Riordan addressed the ardent Percy Jackson supporters who had long pushed for a faithful on-screen adaptation of the series in a video posted on his website in May 2020, announcing the exciting news. Riordan acknowledged the fans’ ten-year efforts and agreed that Disney+ would be a good home for the series.
Originally released between 2005 and 2009, the five-book series tells the tale of 12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson, who learns he is the Greek god Poseidon’s son. A two-film series starring Logan Lerman as Percy, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood, and Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase were among the earlier adaptations.
Although fans and the author himself have criticized the film adaptations over the years, Riordan and his wife, Becky Riordan, stated in October 2020 that they thought they “owed it to the fans to try one more time” for a screen adaptation.
